No... Webers are 100% made in America. They manufacture all their own parts, including stamping and casting the metal components.

2-3 times a month.

By far the ribs and boston butt are the best.

It is a fair amount of work to do good BBQ, but once you start it you can pretty much leave it alone. Maybe mop every hour, but that's about it. I use a wireless themometer to monitor temps, but this thing maintains 225 very well. For a butt I fire it up at 7 pm, put the meat on at 8:30, wake up the next morning at she's still at 225.

It's fun to play around with different woods, because they really do add a ton of flavor.

-edit- oh, you wanted tips...
Get a wireless thermometer, shove it into a potato and put that by your meat. Monitor temps. Just remember that things don't happen fast with BBQ. So changing something might not show up until an hour later.

we have a weber in NorthEast Ohio, snowbelt region

6 years old, no cover, no rust stored outside in winter.

nothing has been replaced on it but the flame covers, and the actual place you put the food on.

great grill.

I wouldn't say 100%, I imagine there's something in there that they import. But yeah, the majority of pieces are made here, so they deserve my money.

We bought the crappola gas grills sold under the Sears brands for ~20 years. They'd last 2-3 years, (we use ours 3-4 times per week, even in the winter) and it'd need parts that usually cost 1/4 to 1/2 the price of a new one. I finally got tired of paying $200-$300 for crap made in China, (one of my big no-no's anyway) and bought a Weber Gold gas grill last year. Had a hard time finding one without the sideburner, which my wife hates, and refuses to use. Stumbled into one at Home Depot. Had a small piece of bent tin on the back, (took 2 minutes to fix) and ehty had it marked down, from $699 to $399. SOLD! Far better/more even heat than any Sears grill we've ever had, better built with stainless cooking grills. This baby works like a Weber should.

And the flavor with charcoal is WORSE imo than gas with ceramic brickettes.

The word ghetto is white trash talk.

Anyways. You do realize that there are a ton of charcoal grills that cost well over $500.00.

As far as I can tell only lazy people use propane. Anyone that cares about the taste of the food and actually knows what grilling is about uses charcoal. Myself I use lazzaro mequite in a weber kettle , briquettes are for noobs.

I love my webbers. i have one that is like 18yrs old (given to me by myfather) and another that is 10 years old. I like cooking with charcoal and enjoy the flaavor.

reason weber is so popular is the fact they last a long time and they cook better then gas or cheap grills. you can't beat the price for the performance.

Don't forget the fire extinguisher around those pots of fire now!

Just chillin' with the grillin' Notice the bucket of water AND the firebottle. Never can be too safe at sea.

And yes weiners generally do taste better over the grill.

I'd like to taste the meat, not the heat nutxo.

Fast cook = propane/gas/high heat lump charcoal.
medium cook = charcoal
slow cook = smoke

I absolutely HATE tasting a nice 20 dollar steak cooked on charcoal or any smoke wood. It's just freakin' wrong. It's a crying shame to ruin a good cut of meat like that. Shame on you for screwing up a good steak by using mesquite. shame on you.

turn in your grilling card now.

Webers are nice grills. My next propane grill will be a Weber. I have several friends that own them and they cook well and last a long time. Customer service is good and parts are readily available. As for the charcoal grills the Webers are awesome. I got mine on the way to work one day. Saw one sitting on the side of the road with a free sign on it. Pulled over, dumped out some ash and crammed it in the back seat of my car. One wheel was missing the tread part of the plastic, the grates needed replacing, the handle was bent and there are a few small rust spots on it but it still has many years left it her. Works like a champ and the price was right. By the way, the best ham I ever had was cooked on a Weber charcoal grill. Webers rock!

For those of you who might be looking for a WSM, I bought mine 3 weeks ago for $199.99. I was able to pricematch a Walmart web page printout to a BBQ Galore in San Diego with no problem. Of course, YMMV on that one but it's worth a shot. I was ready to pay the $250 but lucked out with that price. With that being said, I've already used it about 8 times. I barbecue pretty much year round here so this is gonna be good for the fall, winter, as well as spring. My family thinks this is probably the best thing I've bought as far as cooking tools. Anyone thinking about it, I suggest just to go ahead and get it. While you're at it, stop by costco and get that "How to Grill" book also for $12.00. Lot's of good recipes in there as well. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me and I'll try to answer my best or at least direct you in the right direction.

Im getting the Weber Summit Platinum D6 delivered to my house on Wednesday. The best part was the price, about $450 (thank you AMEX My Wishlist). And Steven Raichlin's How to Grill is one of the best BBQ books out there, my bro picked it up "used" from Amazon for about $6 shipped.
