This is a smoker that has been proven to be an excellent machine time and time again.
It's even used in smoking competitions.
I have one and absolutely love it

FYI: Amazon often changes the price every day/hour.
So if you really want one, I wouldn't take too long to think about it.

2nd Edit: Price went down to $179.99 on May 23rd.

3rd Edit: Price went back up to $199.99 on May 24th

#$%^&# I'm in the middle of putting together a htpc/part time gaming rig with a budget of $750 and everytime someone posts/bumps this I get to thinking about
downgrading the cpu (e7200 ---> stock cooled e2180/4850e) ,video card (9600gt-->integrated or 3450), +budget mb in favor of ....smoked meat.

This is made for low and slow cooking. (Ribs,Chicken, fish, pork, Ham, Turkey etc)
About 350 Degrees Max will be about what this smoker/BBQ puts out without using water in the water pan.

For example, You'd want to use water with ribs, it helps with moisture and keeps the temp down.

If your on the fence with this smoker, just buy it.
You will NOT be disappointed.
It holds temperature wonderfully and is easy as hell to use.

Yup. While you are at it, you can pretty much throw away the instructions that come with it (after it is assembled) and use this site.

Speaking of which.... I think I'll fire up some ribs this weekend.

If it makes you feel better, my HTPC is an Opteron 165 w/ a 3450. I bought an e2200 to go in my main pc and moved the AMD stuff to the HTPC case. Works wonderfully.

I just sent the link to my wife saying that it would make a great birthday present. I hope she gets the hint.

Glad to see some fellow WSM users here!
I've got two pork butts in the refrigerator, rubbed and ready for an overnight cook tonight.

I bought the green version of this grill last year for $44 at Lowes. It's very similar to the Weber smoker.... (charcoal only without the electric heating element)

The metal is pretty sturdy and I've smoked probably 15 pork roasts in it since last May. It does great on making smoked chicken and I've also made steaks with it. It's big enough to do 3-4, 6 pound roasts at a time.

How thick is the metal on the Weber? I'm curious about maybe upgrading...
