wee! tornado touched down like 2 miles from me.

we got a very nasty storm. my wife and kids were in the basement listening to the weather radio while i was outside watching the clouds (yeah im nuts). She yelled out that one touched down right down the road. i looked but couldnt see anything.


man my yard is a mess. we have weeping willow in the yard and every time someone sneezes we have twigs down

it was a nasty short storm. like maybe 45 minutes.

i lived in Vancouver a few years. i enjoyed it. yeah it did tend to rain a lot but that was fine.i would rather put up with rain then worrying about Tornado's.

I went down to my basement and waited it out. Some neighbors of mine were there, and told me that their daughter was trapped in the basement of her house in the burbs after all the tree damage. Car was wrecked by it too. First time we've ever heard tornado sirens in Chicago. They sound different than the ones I'd hear in Arkansas.

KillerCharlie, Chicago weather is relatively stable compared to places actually in Tornado Alley. This is a rarity.

Just had another power bump, looks like this storm's not leaving without a fight.

On the plus side, I think it fixed my issues with my TV service not getting some networks.

and if you hear sirens that means one was sighted. if its nasty go down to the basement.

The worst of it was about an hour - hour and a half ago here (Elgin). It's calmed down a lot, you probably won't hear any more sirens. But if you do, yes then you should go hide.
