Weeds vs. Californication vs. Dexter

First two seasons of Weeds > Californication >>>> what I've watched of the fourth season of Weeds. I don't remember how well I liked the third season of Weeds, and I've never watched Dexter.

Dexter is consistently good, but I just can't get into it, personally.

I love California. Very funny, and the Hank character is incredible. But man, I want to punch the chick from the Nanny in the face... ironic, isn't it?

Weeds is alright... something to watch when you have nothing better to watch, but it isn't that great of a show. They just got more and more outlandish and simply show how mentally retarded the main character is. The one good thing you can mention about Dexter is that even though the show has been deviating from the book, they've been doing a fairly decent job of it. I don't think I've met anyone who told me the books were better than the show (as you progress, I mean). Californication has some fun humor through out, but sometimes the show's overarching plot seems to go absolutely nowhere or rather it just comes back full circle every few episodes. Hank and Karen are lovin' each other, Hank does something, Karen hates hank, a couple episodes go by and he does something and she loves him again.

When I first watched Dexter I literally downloaded the first 2 season on Showtime on Demand and watched it all in the course of 2 weeks. Its a very addicting show and definately beats the rest by a mile.

If Dexter wins this pole I'll light myself on fire. The first season was good and it's sucked since then. It's repetitive shit. 'oooh I'm Dexter...here I am in a supermarket but I don't get how to shop for groceries because secretly I'm dark and not like everyone else in the express checkout line". Yes. we get it already. Throw in a few 'twists' you can see from a mile away 'ooooh he's having a kid. Didn't see THAT coming' and really you have the most over-rated show on television.

I voted Weeds just because, but the above more accurately reflects my opinions. I can appreciate the craft and good writing in Californication and Dexter, but for some reason I've yet to bond with either show.

Weeds is just easy on the eyes because of leggy, pouty chiquita. <shrug>

Just watched the first two seasons a second time. This was the first time my gf watched the show and she loved it. We would watch 2 or 3 episodes in a sitting or even stay up late to catch another one.

I love the walking id that is Hank. And as a bonus my wife likes the seires too, so that helps. We never could get into weeds, and Dexter was okay, just not as entertaining as Californication.
