WEee! New poochie

The thing is soooooooo cute, drove 4 hours to pick her up last night, last minute. Before we left we picked up about 240$ worth of stuff at petsmart (we got the card, use it for our cat food).

I have ALLWAYS wanted one, finaly got her, purebread Siberian Husky, Brown/White female, blue eyes.

had to wake up nearly ever 2 hours to let her pee and poop. She is only 6 weeks old, so we have to potty train her and such. She already comes to her name "Yoshie!". I plan on letting her ding a bell when she wants to go potty, works well for my girlfriends mom and her dogs.

Don't huskies require pretty much the most attention and exercise of almost all domesticated canines? Hope at least someone in your family is a runner... one of my parent's friends owned a Husky and ended up having to get rid of it because they didn't take care of it well enough (afterall, it's bred to run hundreds of miles a week) and I think it started ripping up carpet and drywall!

All that being said, huskies are so damn awesome, I could just never take care of one.

haha, these were the owners pictures.

yeah, she did seem a bit young, but the owner of the litter let 2 others go already and they are ok.

All that being said, huskies are so damn awesome, I could just never take care of one.

yeah, they require ooodles of attention, like most dogs. I plan on rollerblading with her around uptown a lot, haha. or running, biking.

I'd like to train one for dog sled racing. That should come in handy when I need to get to work during the Chicago winter

I know, my family has always owned labs, retrievers, the typical poochies, but I really wanted to get something a bit different, it was either this cutie, or a shiba inu.

kennel (100$) , food, quality stuff (retractable leash, toys, etC). They are strong buggers, when she gets older I don't want things breaking, haha.

6 weeks is perfect, 8 weeks and the dog is getting more attached to it's mother than you. 6-8 weeks is what most people say, some say 10-12 but that's WAY too long. YOU are the alpha, YOU are the leader, YOU are the one to bring them up, not their mother. That will foster the most loyalty and the best relationship. We got ours at 6.5 weeks and she thinks we are her parents, I love it.
