Thats awesome man.

Besides, at my size I can lose 2 lbs by taking a dump.

That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a while. I'm a big guy too, 6'1" and 320. Tho I have a lot of muscle mass, I stopped working out years ago, and am more flabby than I woul d like to be, for sure. I should try something like this.

I'm glad nobody has called you a fat ass and made fun of you. I guess the respondents are more mature than any of us would have expected.

Good job, and keep up the good work.

Good luck with everything

I do agree with some of the post here regarding metabolism and such. Make sure that you address this and returning to a helthy lifestyle instead of a dieting lifestyle.

Some have asked the same question:
Cost?
What led you this specialist? (I guess an introduction beyond you didn't want to pursue the surgery)
Where others can go if interested in reading/pursueing
Maybe post the more common pts in the OP

And keep the PICs coming 30/60/90/120 days - I think it serves as a great motivation for you and us.

6'3" 305LBs goal is 220 for starters - I am puruseing it by modifying the lifestyle though - lower caloric intake and more frequent exercising ...

Way to Go!

I could stand to lose about 46 lbs. myself. I'm looking to start soon. Diet and exercise. Gotta buy a new bike though. Can't ride the one I no longer have--it was stolen.

EDIT: OK, about 30 lbs to get back to my 21 year old weight of about 185--I wouldn't want to lose more than that because my body type isn't right for it. I'm kind of stocky and muscular--always been at 25th percentile height, 75th percentile weight since I was a kid, so changing that just wouldn't work.

Biking is my best exercise outlet. I practically grew up on my bicycle. To me, it's the the most adventure (or distance traveled, scenery seen) for the energy expended, and it's low impact. Gotta have a good bike though--no Target crap--or it's more work than fun. (Plus, those cheap bikes just fall apart, and they weren't made to be repaired--you can't fix them with off the shelf parts.)

With the exercise you will need to start eating more. Starving yourself isn't the answer because you only end up splurging in the end and gaining weight back. Researching the forums at www.bodybuilding.com will help a ton as there are a lot of people who are in your position or have been in your position and are willing to help you out. There is a wealth of information there. Anyways, good job on the progress so far, keep it up.
