IIRC, putting weights on your ankles and wrists is bad for you because it strains and fscks up your joints, especially if you wear them all day. To verify, I'd ask my doctor before I did anything that added strain to my system for an extended period of time.

yeah thats what i heard, if you wear weights for long periods of time they screw stuff up

Not true. Why dont you guys just google this.

From teh Google.

There are more links that also state weights on ankles/wrists not=good.

Like I said, talk to a doctor or some medical professional first.

Wow... way to take advice from a womens health site. 90% of "health and fitness" information posted on the web and magizines is regurgitated garbage. They don't believe in the age old saying "No Pain No Gain" Apparently breaking a sweat and feeling pain in your muscles is now illegal in this day and age.

"It can place a strain on the ligaments and tendons of your lower body, possibly hurting your knees or ankles. Carrying free weights can also put a strain on your shoulders." No sh*t.... that's lactic acid build up and it means you're gonna burn some calories!

No because fat people are fat because they basically consume more calories in a day than they burn (either by eating too much or not exercising enough). Fat people do spend more energy moving around because of the extra weight that fights against gravity. That's the only benefit I can think of for fat people... they burn more calories moving despite putting them on again at dinner. I used to be pretty fat, and I have huge claves to show for it. even though i was tubby, I still got around, and my calves became abnormally large due to the extra weight constantly applied to them.

Anyways, using weighted clothing is beneficial for exercises (in my friends case, any training relating to boxing where you're on your feet). The muscles that most benefit from the weighted vest would be the ones in the legs (running, sprinting, shadow boxing). Not to mention increase in stanima.

So what would be a good weight to start on for the feet?

Start with some green dye and plastic ears, then shave your head. Oh, and how about you try the Swan-Dive off a Building while you're at it? I mean, it works in the cartoon, right?

I can't fvcking believe it took that many posts before someone ridiculed the OP for wanting to imitate a DragonBall Z character.
