Hello All. One of Mozarts greatest Operas which made his life a target for the financial oligarchy, the Magic Flute, is available on DVD right now in PlayCentric. I understand Americans are incredibally and unbelievably weak when it comes to understanding culture, so I will try to lay out this importance of this masterpiece.

Mozart was in a circle which were the main supporters of the American Revolution against the greatest empire, the British. Mozarts circles were intellectual, monetary, and direct fighting supporters of the American Renaissance which Ben Franklin organized and fought. For example, The person who wrote the story behind Mozarts "The Marriage of Figaro", was using the money he got to directly fund weapons to the American Revolutoin. Also, one of the biggest influences of Mozart and Beethoven was Fredriche Schiller. Schiller is known as 'the Poet of hte American Revolution' and 'The Poet of Freedom'. In fact, Beethoven wrote about his greatest work, the 9th Symphony that 'Music needs to enhance the qualities of a poem, and the works of Schiller are so great, that It took me 20 years to write my 9th symphony to his words'. The ideas of Schiller, Mozart, Mendelssohn, the Humboldt brothers, Beethoven, and so fourth were deeply integrated to Ben Franklins forming of the US Constitution. Remember, "Life, Liberty, and the persuit of Happiness" was a philosophy by Gottfried Wilhelm Liebniz.

In this masterpiece, Mozart launched a direct attack against the Imperial Oligarchy trying to keep Europe backwards. During this period, ONLY the super rich could listen to music. They would own or hire an orchestra, hire Mozart or some composer, and they would conduct the music. The super rich would invite only their friends to watch, and the poor peasants could not be uplifted by this. This was just fine for the oligarchy, as they didn't want the peasants getting ideas of universal human rights and freedom. They wanted to keep the serfs as nice happy slaves. Mozart broke with that. His "Magic Flute" was performed live, for free, for the entire population. The peasantry was STUNNED, not just by the beautifull music which is in full accordance to universal law, but also the ideas of uplifting humanity out of it's beastial infancy, to the ideas represented by Platos Republic which the American Revolution was fighting them empire against. Needless to say, the oligarchy would not have this interference with their power, and slowly poisoned young Mozart who died a very early and young death =(. before Mozart died, he left us his greatest masterpiece, the Requiem, also known as the unfinished Symphony. It was unfinished as Mozart died on his death bed before finishing it... Regardless, dont' both watching "Amadeus", it's a slander against Mozart, just like basically all Hollywood 'sensationalist' productions against great classical artists. I hope I have provoked you enough to research this further, to develop your own mind as a human being.

thanks, the magic flute is my favorite opera. i tried watching a wagner opera (tristan and isolde) and an italian opera (madame butterfly) but fell asleep at both, with the magic flute i stayed up the whole time.

i saw it performed by the los angeles opera, and although they kind of disneyfied it a little with the costumes, it was still cool to watch. i had only heard of that one famous aria before i went to see it, but there are so many other cool ones.

Yuck, Wagner was an Anti-Semitic Nazi supporter. In fact, I've seen pictures of his grandsons on Adolf Hitlers lap looking quite serious. Wagner himself stated that his intention is to distroy the classical era by making music just raw emotion, and that he despised and hated the Beethoven tradition. With our sick and skewed, or at least uneducated culture today, making music about raw emotion seems almost natural, but it's not. Music appeals to that which makes us humans, not animals. Animals can have raw emotion, but they cannot have an origional idea of how the universe works by using their minds. They can only know what their sences tell them. Classical music takes you to a higher realm of Animals and beasts, to that of cognition, that which makes us divine. Only humans can discover a universal principle that you couldn't find out using your mere sence perception, and then, transmit that idea to another human being. This is what classical music is about and does, that's why you fell asleep in Wagner. Madame Butterfly seems just quite boring.


I would recommend the composer Furtwangler. He is Lyndon LaRouches favourite composer, whom also defied the Nazi order. In the height of the Nazi power, where the works of uplifting humans such as Beethoven were banned by teh Nazis and punishable by death, Furtwangler led Beethovens 9th Symphony in a underground basement or record hall, and broadcasted it on the radio live, to uplift the german population with the universal ideas of Beethoven, whom the Nazis favourite composer to march people in the concentration camps, Wagner, hated. Furtwangler lived, and conducted Mozarts "Don Giovanni" in 1952 in Salzburg. This is available in Amazon.com, I will tell you how it is when I get it. However, Don Giovanni is one opera that you will NOT fall asleep on.

The story is rather like this. It is named after the Spanish Hapsburg agent, Don Juan Demarco who would seduce ladies to get intellegence out of them. He would seduce the wives and so fourth of high ranking officials for the Spanish Oligarchy. In this play, Don Giovanni is a killer rapist, that is finally avenged poetically. That's all I can say, you should see it if you wish to know more.

It's funny that in the same reply where you bash Wagner, you recommend Furtwangler and mention that he's Lyndon LaRouche's fave composer [Larouche being an (in)famous tax cheat, incarcerated Presidential candidate, anti-Semite and neo-fascist] as if that's some sort of glowing endorsement that's going to make me run out and buy it

Seriously, most artists are a bit screwy with their beliefs and I'd suggest learning to learn to separate the art from the politics of the artist. Besides, Wagner's musical goals were no worse than those of any other "revolutionary" musical artist of the past 300 years.

On the account of what is commonly called today, the Nazi regime's Holocaust against the Jews of Germany, Poland, and elsewhere, there is an overdue debt to be paid. I submit herewith the bill demanding the payment of that debt.

The greatest contributions of the Jew to European civilization, was the movement generated by the work of one of the greatest individual geniuses of modern (extended) European civilization as a whole, Moses Mendelssohn. Mendelssohn was not merely a Jew who contributed to modern civilization; he was a leading, integral part of the late-18th-century revolution, without which there would have been no modern European science, no modern Classical musical or other artistic composition, and without which freedom and the Federal Constitution would not have been possible.

Not only did Moses Mendelssohn, as a German, play a leading role in creating modern Germany and modern European civilization of the 18th century onward; as a German of Orthodox Jewish faith, he, like Martin Luther King in our own time, freed the Jew by freeing the German to become part of an ecumenical system of justice under the supreme rule of nothing
but reason itself. In that process, he mobilized from among German Jews, and, by implication, the Yiddish Renaissance of Poland, Ukraine, and Russia, to make a contribution to modern civilization way beyond all proportion to their relative numbers among the populations within which they lived as part.

Thus, that German Jew, complemented by the forces of the Yiddish Renaissance, is an expression of the soul of the Jew: In the simultaneity of eternity, the Yiddish Renaissance of Germany and Eastern Europe bequeathed to posterity great gifts to which posterity must turn fond attention whenever the name of "Jew" is spoken. With that, every Christian bearing the legacy of Augustine must concur.
To deny the Jews hated by Adolf Hitler their claim to that honor, is to subject those who suffered to a virtual second Holocaust, a holocaust of deadly silence, a virtual denial that those millions of victims ever existed except as a mass of nameless dead.




LaRouche on how the Jewish Renaissance helped save the classical music:
For example, when Felix Mendelssohn's friend Robert Schumann visited the home of Franz Schubert's brother, the brother gave Schumann the manuscript of Schubert's great symphony, the C Major Ninth. Schumann delivered this to Felix Mendelssohn, the grandson of Moses Mendelssohn, who gave the work its first performance. Schubert, like Beethoven, was a follower of Friedrich Schiller in the matter of the philosophy of poetry and musical composition, which both explicitly preferred to Goethe. Schubert, like Mozart, was a collaborator of the extended family of Moses Mendelssohn in musical and other matters. Schubert contributed a key part in the development of the musical Jewish liturgy. Earlier, Mozart had been a protégé of the Austrian Emperor Joseph II, who pioneered in establishing Jewish political citizenship rights in Europe. There is no part of the leading Classical literary and musical culture of the German-speaking world without the leading role contributed by Moses Mendelssohn and his extended family.



A related point must be made for the case of German-speaking contributions to modern science. Look among the roster of pre-Hitler German scientists of note. It was the legacy of Gotthold Lessing and Moses Mendelssohn, who defended not only the musical compositional principles of J.S. Bach, but also the principle of reason in science itself, from the sterility of the 18th-century Enlightenment. This made possible the science of Gauss, Riemann, and others. Look at key figures such as AEG industrialists Emil and Walter Rathenau.

Even the German General Staff's existence was greatly indebted to the Moses Mendelssohn, who advised Count Wilhelm Schaumburg-Lippe on the design of educational program which produced the great Gerhard Scharnhorst. It was the counsel of Mendelssohn which led to the development of the policy of Auftragstaktik, which supplied the German military its man-for-man superiority continued through World War II. Yes, the German military of that period failed to stop Hitler while they still could, during the crucial period of 1932-1933, but in that they failed to meet the standard set by Scharnhorst and the other great reformers of the 1806-1813 period, who acted according to precisely that moral standard which the German military leaders of 1932-1933 failed to meet.

We can not allow 2,000 years of Jewish survival in Europe to be buried under the faceless stone epitaph which speaks only of a bare 13-odd years of Hitler's Holocaust. Shall we remember the honorable living, or shall we think only of the ogre who tormented and murdered them, instead? What sort of justice for martyrs, is that?

Indeed, when all leading factors are taken into account, a free and unified Germany could never have been brought into being but for the crucial role of those German Jews who followed in the footsteps of Moses Mendelssohn.

How long shall we, in the U.S.A., pretend that the European Jews of Germany and elsewhere, did not actually exist as anything but the virtually nameless, faceless victims of an Adolf Hitler?

Yes, Hitler killed millions of Jews (among his numerous other victims), but how many today, in the name of Holocaust, subject those victims to a second holocaust, by implicitly effacing the faces of the victims even from their own tombstones? The only remedy for that orgy of hatred, is to supplant it with loving regard for the honorable preciousness of those victims' lives for the nation of which they had been a part, and which they had served so well. To give justice, is to give justice to the victim, to honor the victim of injustice for his or her contributions to society, to mankind, and even to honor what they might have accomplished had they not been ground into ashes by injustice. Unless we remove the fishbone of blind hatred from our gullets, and celebrate the honor of the victims instead, the possibility of justice anywhere on this planet remains in jeopardy.

How come more than half the heads of LaRouches organization are Jewish, and also LaRouche is the only presidental canddiate with a solution to the global financial meltodnw, and leading the fight against the Neo-Nazi Straussian chickenhawks aimed at starting a TRUE genocide and fascist regime? You should do yourself a favor, and instead of believing what others tell you to think, is to think for your own self, and actually read a paper by LaRouche instead of bashing the greatest statesman.

I put 4th of July hot because it's almost the 4th of July, because Mozarts circles were directly influencial in helping the American Revolutoin and Renaissance, against the Imperial British. We face the same kind of fight today, a Republic against a Empire.
