Textbook MLM. I get people like this sometimes. Usually I can smell them a mile away, but one dude really tripped me up - it was an Indian guy and his wife. My wife wears a nose stud, which is common in some regions of India, so the woman stopped us to ask if my wife wears the nose ring for cultural reasons, so we strike up a casual conversation, and in passing the guy mentions that he has a small business and could potentially use some IT Security expertise in the near future, so I give him my number.

Well done! I have no idea if his wife was genuinely interested in my wife's nose ring and he quickly thought this was a good opportunity to try to rope me in, or if his wife is just REALLY fast on her feet.

In any case, he called about a week later and was trying to get me to meet with him, so I decided to do the usual probing - what kind of business is it? What's the name of the business? What kind of work do you have in mind for me?
He did nothing but dance around the answers. I told him to never call me again.
