It's not that bad. It's more the gross factor that stops people from eating it more than anything. Not a big fan, but I've eaten it.

Durian is not bad. Smell aside, it's very sweet tasting and has a creamy texture.

I can almost be 100% certain that what I ate was pork or chicken. I was in Bangkok, so the chance that I was going to eat dog meat was very very small. Now, the closer you get to Vietnam the chance that you will see people eating dog meat is greater. Thai people normally don't eat dog meat. It's illegal and you can get jail time if you're caught.
