Weird HD7950 FPS Issue with dual monitors

So I was playing WoW the other day and I decided to hook up my 32inch tv and use it as an additional monitor to my current 24inch. I hooked it up and not one single resolution was good everything looked off even on 1080p the text had jagged lines and text on websites was hard to read. So I set it to 1080p and left it and was using it for web browsing and videos etc and my main 24inch as my gaming screen. I logged into WoW with like 20-30 fps which dropped from my constant 60+.

Now I can understand it dropping with 2 1080p monitors although it would be a bit weird if only one was being used for gaming.

The problem is, after being unsatisfied with the fps drop in WoW I unhooked the tv to STILL have 20-30 fps. It also looks more blended and its a bit harder to read text and names from a distance. I thought it was just wow but I did a test with BF3 and before the second tv I would get 50-70fps at all times everything maxed out and I just loaded up bf3 and im getting anywhere from 20-40 fps.

I have updated my drivers to the latest CCC 12.3
Was a fresh install of windows on my SSD so no old drivers would be there

I think there might be a setting where the other monitor is still being rendered or something but the CCC design is horrible and I can't find it if there was.

I registered purely to comment that I am getting the exact same issue. I have a 7950 and I just added a second monitor and am noticing significant framerate drops in minecraft, flash videos and VLC. Without the second monitor, it is fine. In most other games, I don't notice a difference. I really wouldn't expect a 7950 to be struggling with this kind of stuff. I'm guessing it's a driver issue. I'm not running in eyefinity, btw.

My previous AMD card would have this issue if there was flash in a web browser while playing a game, the "flash clocks" would override the full speed 3D clocks and games would get unbearably slow.

My 7850 is not doing this, but it's a possibility.

Also a TV as a monitor doesn't work well unless the TV is specifically setup to accept a computer input. Look for 1:1 mapping. TV signals don't work the same as computer signals and some TVs cannot do pixel precise modes that allows computer text to work right.

Most TVs have only 1 or maybe 2 ports that will work properly for PC input. There should be a special section in the manual for hooking up a PC to the TV.

Something to do with differing refresh rates between the TV and monitor maybe? Were you using desktop clone or extend mode?

I turned on extended display from the CCC instead of in Windows and I don't seem to be getting the framerate issues anymore. Maybe that's something for Leet0nee to try. I'm running 2 identical 1080p displays.
