Weird little things...

Sometimes when playing DOOM3 or watching certain media files or pre-rendered sequences, I get this weird "blind" effect, like I'm seeing the pages of a book being flipped vertically. What could be causing this? It happens in the intro of DOOM3 (the ID logo sequence), sometimes during the game, and this one video file I have (haven't tested it extensively yet).

I'm running dual Leadtek Winfast PX6600GTs in SLI mode with the drivers rev 66.93 (I think thats right, the one on the nVidia website.)

Most likely it is due to Vsync being off.
The frame is being rendered, and then you see it, but part of the previous frame still exists. Vsync limits you to your screen refresh rate (and technically, whole number factors thereof), but gets rid of this.
Could be SLI, though...dunno.

Same story with SLI off. I had this problem with my old 9600 card, I would really notice it whenever I watched the beggining sequence in FFXI. Is Vsync an option?

Vsync should be in the driver control panel. Turning it on for everything (for NV drivers, in the quality and perfotmance settings, right-hand dro-down box, global settings) should fix it in games. For movies, I don't know how to enable it, but would love to know.

For future reference, if this is a vertical sync problem, what you see as the 'blind' effect is usually called 'tearing'.
