No trespassing. Just reconing from the privacy of my own home windows with the lights off, of course

Wow, that sounds like something people would have done in the old USSR. You had to be careful because you neighbors and even family members would report you to the cops.
You're right, maybe we should just say to hell with our well being.... after all we're expendable if the place would blow right??? That's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Let them report me to the cops, I have nothing to hide...except for that mattress tag that was removed.

FettsBabe after looking at pictures i have one thing to say mind your own business.
So are you minding our business by joining in this thread and telling us to mind ours??? Something about the pot and kettle comes to mind...

Neither of us care to have a criminal activity next door to us. So I would think that would fall under "minding my business"...then again maybe you are just worried that someone would turn you in.

He may go in there late at night, but she has a 3-4 bedroom house and is a single lady. Why would he live in a camper? His dog stays in the house.

Has he filled the propane more than once?

Maybe he's "in the doghouse" so to speak. Err, wait a minute...

Go get some binoculars!

The pics really don't say anything one way or another. I'm glad you finally called a detective. They won't be able to do anything if nothing is directly visable but at least it's flagged for their attention and a cop will get out and see if he can smell anything.

It's not a meth lab people. They probably have the lab in the basement.

It's a hydroponic marijuana growing setup.

The lights are on at night for obvious reasons. The hose from the bathroom is to keep the water going. In such a large system you would need large water pumps to mvoe the water. To keep it quiet, you use the pressure from the municipal city supply.
They were worried about the power, because if the lights go off, the plants will most likely die if not tended too quickly.

Ask him for some, send it to me.

Oh yeah, and their mailbox was on the ground (again) this morning. It also has a little red light on it that flashes.
In light of this new information, yes, there's no question about it, you weren't being paranoid AT ALL. There is no other possibility, it's a meth lab with their other neighbor's body in the freezer... they were getting nosey too.

If I were you, I'd grab whatever I could carry and flee... who cares if you have to leave all your material possesions behind, your LIFE is at stake!!! Probably a good idea to change your name and wear a disguise too. If you're still in your house, DO NOT leave out the front door, they have cameras on it... dig an underground tunnel but don't use any metal tools cuz the meth fumes may explode from the sparks. Beware when the policeman comes to your door to give a report, cuz he was killed, that's just a meth-head wearing his clothes.

Screw that. No harm in calling the cops. Worse case, if there is nothing going on it's no sweat to the neighbors. So the cops pay them a visit and take 5 minutes of their time for naught. Big deal. If I had even the slightest evidence of my neighbors brewing up some meth I'd be calling the cops no questions asked... but then again both my neighbors are cops so I'd probably have a Rodney King done to my white a$$ for making trouble for their op.

The chemicals in the back of that pickup truck were interesting to say the least.

There is absolutely no reason for lights to be on 24/7 if it is a meth lab. In fact if it is a meth lab then wouldn't they only turn lights on while they are working in the camper as to not arouse any suspicion?

More than likely it is a simple marijuana grow op. Lets hope for your sake that it isn't though because wouldn't you feel absolutely terrible for getting your neighbors locked up for cultivating a perfectly safe plant?

LOL, well, I have to admit - after seeing the pictures I really find it a lot less threatening than the original description... but I can't wait to hear what is really going on over there!

Edit: My new vote is "portable beef jerky factory!" But still, better safe than sorry.

You guys haven't ever dealt with cold environments I guess...

Putting something in the windows decreases the heat that gets out. Leaving a light on raises the temp a bit. If there's a storm they don't want the house AC circuit shorted out so they hook up a generator to isolate it.

The OP should just go to the neighbor, and plead "Please remove your RV, it's freaking me out!".
