I've noticed this over the last 5 years or so and was wondering if others have the same experience or have an explanation of it.

I lie down in bed, completely still, but the bed starts gently rocking a few millimeters this way, then that, at a high frequency--or so it seems. It's sort of like being on a boat rocking with the waves, except the scales are completely different (tiny movement, maybe three or four oscillations per second). I'm thinking it might have to do with blood circulation or something, but I really don't know.

Any thoughts or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks, thanks..

You're falling asleep.
Or Satan is trying to rip your soul out of your body, I forget which.

Thanks.

It seems it's possibly due to low blood pressure, as my nearly fruitless googling would have me believe. It doesn't stop (it's even going a little bit as I'm sitting in this chair), so I don't think it's due to changing blood pressure (unless you mean three times a second--I'm a bit ignorant here). Do you have low blood pressure Praxis? Anyway, I love it too. I was just curious about what it was.

I know what you're talking about. No idea what causes it. Blood pressure sounds like a plausible reason.

Well according to the Monk I spoke to at the airport that wanted me to buy his book, he says that those things are spirits coming down to have sexy time with you...... I just want to relax before my flight, not hear all this mumbo jumbo.

The anatomy of your inner ear in conjunction with the vasculature within could be the culprit. The semicircular canals are responsible for detecting angular acceleration, or head turning, and the otolith organs detect head orientation and linear acceleration. The organs are filled with a fluid that sloshes against tiny hair cells, together detecting movement in all directions. Sounds like it's realted to the semicircular canals. There is an artery, the superior vestibular artery, which runs against a portion of the canals. I know sometimes when I lie in bed I can feel the blood pulsing in my ears. Perhaps the specific anatomy of of your inner ear and vasculature causes the fluid in the nearby canals to slosh in resonance with your heart beat. Hence, 3-4 times a second and not in sync with your HR.
Just an idea
