OK, first off here are the specs:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ (Skt754)
DFI nForce3 250Gb motherboard
1GB Corsair ValueSelect
XFX Geforce 6800
250GB Maxtor w/ 16MB cache (SATA)
NEC ND-3520A
Tagan 430W PSU

That's basically it. Everything stock, no overclocking. Been running perfect for past year or so...
Yesterday, outta nowhere just shut down. I tried to restart and fans start spinning, lights go off, but nothing happens on screen. At first I thought it was a video card problem (no signal to screen) so I switched with my brother's card and same thing happens...
Next I thought it might be memory, so I switched that as well... no go..
Switched to a different hard drive I had previously... nothing...
Even that initial 'beep' before it boots doesnt happen anymore. It just keeps running while nothing happens.
I can't access the BIOS... nothing.

I'm at a TOTAL loss... Anyone have anything to go on?

THANKS!

First things first... try clearing the CMOS.
If that doesn't work, try another PSU.

There's usually a jumper to clear the CMOS on the mainboard. If you have the manual for your mainboard it will tell you.
Basically you unplug the system, remove the CMOS battery, and then move the jumper over for a few seconds, then put it back, and put the battery back in and power on.

i would guess that it's the PSU... mine died on me a couple years ago while I was playing a video game... the computer made a loud beep and then shut off. when i pushed the power button, some of the fans spun a bit, but nothing turned on.

try a diff PSU and see if that helps.

if bios flash don't work..then

did you hear any beeping sound? if not, most likely problem with your CPU/Ram
try reseating them.. unplug all your hd/cdrom and use the built-in videocard(if there is one).

I have the same problem with mine. On mine it is the power supply. I have to manually switch off the power supply on the back of the computer..then switch it back on Then when I start my computer every thing is fine. Hope this helps
