Weird problem... VERY weird, in fact...

it happened slowly, almost - one day, animated GIFs in web sites started displaying only a frame or two, then stopping. it slowly progressed until it reached a point where I could not see the animation in animated GIFs at all.

and this is rather unfortunate, as I hear this is pretty cool, but I cant see it. along with LOADS of other stuff.

any ideas?

Umm...Reinstall Windows

That seems like the only solution for wierd problems like that nowadays.

Oh, hey, have you tried running Repair using the Windows CD. That reinstalls major system files while leaving your settings, programs, drivers intact. That might work!
