Weird reboot behaviour

I have a Silverstone Zeus 750W that's about 1.5 years old at this point, and I've been wondering if it could be damaged.
This is the situation:
I recently got a new motherboard (NForce4, S939) and everything worked fine. One fine day, however, I was adding another hard drive. When I tried to boot up the system, however, it turned out that in some way (don't ask me how) a molex connector had settled against a bend in the case in such a way that it shorted out when the power was turned on. A spark flew, I was scared sh*tless, and the computer immediately powered down. After correcting the situation (and putting tape over all unused connectors for good measure), I tried booting again and everything worked fine.
Now that was about a week ago. Around the same time that this happened, I suddenly started noting that the computer would not reboot. Now it would boot fine, and it would shut down fine, it just wouldn't start back up again after selecting "reboot". This was also noticeable when exiting the BIOS; the computer simply would not start up again after shutting off. I am much perplexed by this behaviour, and I've not seen anything like it before.
Now I want to emphasize that I'm not entirely sure about the timing of these events. I'm not positive that the computer didn't fail to reboot even before the spark flew (although I think it only started afterwards), and I don't know for sure that it stopped rebooting properly right after the incident.
I have been overclocking the system rather heavily, but I've noticed that settings that were stable a week ago tend to induce (very) sporadic reboots and inexplicable crashes. Now I have moved the computer from one room to another, so it might just be that it could be running hotter. I haven't actually downclocked it again yet, so I'm not 100% sure that it's stable at lower speeds, either.

Now my questions to all the knowledgeable people on this forum is: Do you think this is a motherboard issue or a PSU issue? Have you seen anything like it before? Do you think that the spark and the resulting reboot malfunction are interrelated at all, or could something else have damaged the components in a similar way? Should i be afraid of further damage and replace the PSU/motherboard, or is it relatively safe to just keep running the system like it is now?

Thank you

I really doubt that it is a PSU issue.... NF 4 chipsets are very sensitive to ESD .. in this case it was not static... and it would make sense that it took a little while to manifest itself.

You have probably Zanked the MOBO, you probably can't RMA it. Try pulling the battery, and draining all the power.. if that will not fix it .. I'm leaning to a Borked MOBO

Alright, thank you. That's a great relief for me, since the PSU is about 5x the price of the motherboard
