Well.....crap.

Last year didn't start out so well (cancer, cancer, stroke, lawsuits (plural) etc) and didn't really get much better. My wife lost both her remaining grandparents within a couple of weeks of each other, my grandmother who had been recovering well from her cancer treatments was diagnosed with a different kind of cancer and my father's blood work and follow up scans are not as positive as we would like. (Granted pancreatic cancer could be much worse but the signs of him beating the 5 year statistics aren't looking too good)

But with the new year we were hoping for a better start. January wasn't too bad but on Monday my father got the latest test results back and they are 'only' "mildly concerning". Not the greatest of news and it sounded to me like they were laying the ground work to soften the blow of potentially starting more chemo.

The company earnings report came out that day and after a couple of very good months the company I work for is again in financial troubles which again make me worry about them staying afloat.

And then today we found out my wife's father was admitted to Hospice care. He had been doing very well since his stroke but fell and broke two ribs in December and had been in and out of the hospital with various complications since then. It seemed like he was on the mend but it suddenly took a very serious turn for the worse - on her birthday.

This is not at all how I had hoped this year would go...

you certainly have your plate full of a lot of crap. Ive been there in your shoes and all you can do is take it day by day and find little things to take your mind off the worry and stress even for just a little bit helps a lot.

Hang in there. I've survived almost 2 years now after cancer surgery followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Things will get better, just have to have the faith.
