Need to find a new mix Aunt Jermima doesn't make good waffles.
Try Kodiak Cakes Flapjack & Waffle Mix. I picked up a box at Costco awhile back, although not sure if they still have it.
The Old Spanish Sugar Mill. Place is awesome but the lines get insane quickly (usually 1-2 hour wait during peak times) which is why we rarely go (we're about 40 minutes away). DeLeon Springs is neat, but there's not a lot to do while waiting.QFT. Growing up, my grandparents lived just outside of DeLand, FL. There was a place called DeLeon Springs that had a breakfast place that had cook tops on every table so you could sit around and cook your own food. They had a '7 grain batter' that made the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. Buckwheat was in there for sure as was Rye and wheat. I have no idea what else was in it - I wish I'd paid more attention back then. Sadly due to my grandpa coming down with Alzheimers, they had to move in with my parents back here in NY. Highly recommended if you're ever in the area... Not even mentioning the swimming and fishing.

Yup that's it. As kids we would always visit in the summer, so it was during peak season. We would just end up swimming for an hour or so while we waited for our name to be called. Luckily they have a few speakers outside so you don't have to wait around doing nothing. Definitely a great place. The Old Spanish Sugar Mill. How do you do the vanilla extract?
This gave me an idea--now I want a birch tree in the backyard so that I can start making birch juice in the summers.
WHY AND THE HOLY FUCK are you putting red bell peppers, chives
Why not put the beans in the vodka bottle?use scissors and split about 20 beans, then put them in a quart mason jar and fill with vodka. shake it every day for a week then just let it steep for 3 months.

Stop conflating fact with opinion!some stupid cook thinking he reinvented biscuits and gravy by adding more flavors. in my opinion he ruined it.
In honor of this thread I sucked it up and went to WH today for the first time in 15 years or so.
It wasn't terrible. The place had been recently renovated so it was very clean and comfortable. I won't be writing a glowing online review about the food but it was what it was - basic fare - exactly what one should expect from WH. I got what I paid for, probably a B-. However, the people working at this particular WH were awesome. For atmosphere it gets an A.

Better yet, get real vanilla and save the vodka for lime juice and snakebites.
Does that taste significantly different from supermarket extracts?
That's a pet peeve of mine. 100% juice (with added flavor). Wait a minute! That's >100%!out of kicks i looked at a kroger brand vanilla the other day and it said 100% pure vanilla extract, however the ingredients said it had HFC in it... WTF?
na not really but its fun making your own. out of kicks i looked at a kroger brand vanilla the other day and it said 100% pure vanilla extract, however the ingredients said it had HFC in it... WTF?
buy this. get extract grade. no need to spend the money on premium grade beans.

Then buy this. any vodka will work just as long as its 35% or higher. there is no difference between using bottom shelf and top shelf vodka. so use the cheap shit.

That's tricky wording, but it just means the vanilla extract that is in it is 100% pure vanilla. When I bought 100% pure Brazilian Carnuba wax for my car I learned my lesson about this. It turned out it was only like 30% but the wax that was in it was as claimed 100% Brazilian.

I think there was a WH on every other exit on I-30 in Arkansas.
