Try them with bacon bits.

Next try deep fried cornmeal battered okra (at Lucille's or Cracker Barrel).

First time I had collard greens was in Iraq. Lots of southern foods in military chow halls.

Black dudes were in total disbelief that I was 26 years old and had just tried collard green for the first time.

I too, loved them.

To me greens are good when they are cooked with lots of meat and fat, but then again what isn't? When you scale that back and cook them "healthy" they aren't so great imo.

Collard greens don't taste like spinach. Collards are too thick.

Turnip greens are better.

Are you ready for turnip greens, Swiss chard and, mustard greens now? Kale is pretty tasty too. Eat your dark greens.

I haven't had collard greens but I picked up some kale a couple days ago on a recommendation. How do you guys cook that?

You can use it as a spinach substitute, but the flavor's more robust. My favorite way is just steamed with vinegar on it. It can be cut up in an omelet, cooked with bacon, or other pig parts, or even roasted into chips.

Sautéed with olive oil, salt, and garlic.
You need the salt and garlic because kale is kinda bitter by itself.

They're awesome. As much or more flavor than spinach with a slightly meatier texture. Loaded with good vitamins too. My wife does them sauteed with some garlic and olive oil, or steamed and the tossed with some lemon butter. She has a few different ways of cooking it.

Collard Greens are crap to me. I live in the South and people have asked me to try them many times from the 'best' to some picnic. I do not like.

all of those except Swiss Chard are from the cabbage or Brassica family.

Swiss Card is a form of beet grown for the leaves.

all are very delicious.
