My last cigarette was at 6:30pm.

I've decided not to use the Zyban (welbutrin), but I am using patches.

Wish me luck!!!

Be very strong against the "just one" trap. Two or three months later, you're gonna consider yourself clean and free. Then you're gonna be at a bar or at a party and say, "Well, one cigarette won't hurt." Then you're gonna have that one "harmless" cigarette and when you do, the addiction comes back 10 times stronger than before. This is why a lot of quitters end up smoking again.

Be strong and resist that one "harmless" cigarette.

I quit smoking 3 years ago

no patches, nothing ...

good luck -

I think they say the first 3 days are the most difficult cause that's the length of time it takes for the nicotine to get out of your blood stream.

Good luck to you and God bless all the people who will have to put up with your sour, nici-fitting ass

Well, luckily here in Cali it's illegal to smoke anywhere except on top of tall buildings under a full moon when the moon and stars are lined up properly...
But the temptations are less now.

My biggest failure the last time I quit was my wife can be a shrew when she's in a mood.. My usual escape is to go on the patio and smoke a cig... If my wife wasn't breastfeeding I'd be giving her valium or something...

I've been smoking for 19 years. Since I was 14. :Q So this is a challenge for me!

Good luck. Seriously, especially with a baby around, you are the MAN. Do it for your child. Remember your child when you get that urge and remind yourself of how much better of a life your child will have. Congrats and hope it works out.

Just remember, cigarettes are not addictive. Hey, the CEO's of the tobacco companies said so under oath so it must be true.

Stay away from alcohol and dump your smoking friends. It makes it MUCH easier.

It's been something like three years now for me, and alcohol STILL makes the urges to smoke unbearable.

Good luck, I'm 6 months smoke free now. Just as advice, try and stay away from other smokers as much as you can just to cut down on the temptation, plus getting drunk makes it hard also.

EXACTLY! This trap caught me, but on my second quitting attempt I have succeeded. Spent a few hours in a smoke filled bar just the other night and resisted the urge to light up. That, and the $5.00 per pack price in the machine!

Good luck! You can do it!

Good luck! I smoked from the age of 12 til I quit at 24, 6 years ago. Like Amused said, keep away from your friends who smoke. I had to stay out of bars for a whole year until I had the willpower. I didn't try Zyban though, best way is Cold Turkey

I wish you more success than my parents, especially my father, had. He's stopped and restarted so many times it's ridiculous. I hope your willpower is stronger.

Hysterical. I work on the Brown and Williamson case daily and I always find myself resisting doubling over in laughter when I read the deps and the transcripts.
