I have been reading a lot of review sites and it seems like most of them get the GT to 400 - 425 stable. The Ultras usually overclock 445 - 475 from what I have read? Sorry for the delay in replying. You do get full value for what the cards retailed for. If you buy from EVGA you buy at their retail price:

I paid $399 for my GT (arriving Friday) + shipping. When I step up in October I will get the full $399 towards the purchase of a higher grade card (Ultra) and the new card will be a retail model.

Note... they will charge your 15% restocking fee if you trash your card (not working) or don't return with all of the attachments & software (don't try to send it back without the free far cry game they give you with the GT, you'll get another with the Ultra)

Hi,

I was worried about that too. I spoke with EVGA customer service and they said that you only need to register your GT for step up by day 90 (no later). After that you are placed in a que with top priority to receive an Ultra (or whatever top card it is in October, for me). Once one becomes available they will email you and you send your card back. Once they receive your card and verify it's in good condition (with shipping he said about 3 days), they send you your new card

Make sure you have a backup card for a week when you will be cardless. This was the best offer I could find from any company for my situation (someone waiting on a high end card but having to build my system now). In October I will let you know how everything went

I really wanted a PowerColor XT but, couldnt' wait (nobody offered a better upgrade option than EVGA). Check out that link I sent above for the FAQ. You can call or email EVGA. They will not be able to respond until 12:00 easter as they open at 9:00 am PST.

Thanks for the response. I do like eVGA's program and that would be a nice deal for anyone looking to upgrade. So, I can sit here waiting for my PNY order to fill (could be over a month) or I could have an eVGA with Far Cry by Friday, haha!

Yeah.. go for it I ordered mine yesterday and it shows (through UPS) that it will be here Friday. And my Ultra will eventually come while I've had all the gaming fun on the GT. Can't beat it. I'm surprised more people haven't jumped on this deal!

There's plenty of people paying those prices. That person's not the first nor the last. In fact, if you want an XT PE I'd challenge you to find it in stock for less than $600 much less $700

I'm not because I already bought a BFG 6800GT OC. However I could easily return it to Frys, hmmm.
