Welp, TF2 now has laser guns

You can do great with the default loadouts of every kit. Only the Spy seems noticeably gimped but that's just because I find the Dead Ringer so damn amazing.

The pyro is decidely gimped with a vanilla loadout as well, simply because the degreaser/axtinguisher combo is so much better then flamethrower/fire axe.

Spy, I wouldn't use the vanilla loadout. Dead ringer if you don't care about winning, just killing. Cloak and Dagger to be a team player.

It actually varies quite a bit. As far as I can tell, most competitive scouts pretty much stick with the vanilla scattergun, and the base demo loadout is pretty much his best stuff. Heavy tends to do better with a sandwhich and GRU to nullify his primary weaknesses. Medic can do very well with his vanilla loadout, but the vanilla melee gets swapped out ASAP.


And megaLOL at today's patch. It nerfed the lazer bazooka....and then introduced a bug turning reflected standard shots from the thing into 270 damage death bombs. LolWTF.

I dunno the base pyro is kind gimpy and I'm not really into their play style, but the base scout seems pathetic.

Spy loadout choices are situational. On large open maps like badwater, the default loadout is the preferred choice because you can easily avoid spam and as long as you know the ammo locations, can basically run around the entire map invisible as long as you want. Dead ringer is more for maps with tighter corridors and choke points. Cloak and dagger is useless unless it ever allowed cloak to fill by picking up ammo packs.

I prefer default loadout most of the time and I MVP most of the time, just my preference though. Dead ringer runs out way way too fast and then you're a sitting duck.

I tend to play on Warpath, which has next to no ammo. Default spy is fundamentally useless there.

I think they should have made TF2 Free to Play a different game. Let it have it's micro transactions to make money. Then just left TF2 alone because the people playing it already made Valve money by buying it. It's not like there wasn't a large enough player base prior to it being Free to Play.

I haven't played this game in 6 months. I kind of want to go back and see what all the fuss is about. But I really don't for fear of the repercussions on my time/schedule. I haven't smoked crack in 6 months either.....

And one of the nice things about FF, its free, not hats, or unlockable weapons; just good ole team fortress at its best.

I like the comedy that TF2 brings, but it just feels too... cartoony now. Not that the game was ever serious, but it feels like it's less about team work and more about people charging around trying out new gear and laughing at stupid hats. No thanks.

Man, I played a bunch more on the weekend and this game is as good as or even better than before. The laser gun is no big deal, really not much different than any of the other guns.

It seems to me most of the people bitching about the game have not actually played it in a long time if ever.

Yep I noticed this. It's much better than it was last week.

I'm still trying to get that knife for the spy that allows you to change into the person you backstab instantly. All my random drops are crap I already have. I don't get why I get multiples like that.

I want that knife too. I think I may craft it, though I just used most of my stuff to make a new Scout gun.
