Wendy's is still solid

Had a triple-burger at Wendy's the other day with my fast-food craving daughter. It wasn't terrible... fries were pretty good much better then I recalled.

Because the fries are now all natural and made with sea salt.

I went to Wendy's on Thursday and had one of the worse experiences going through the drive through. Usually this location is great, quick and everything right. This time I sat behind two cars for ~15 minutes and actually thought about putting the vehicle in park and shitting the engine off. Finally the two vehicles got their SMALL orders and I got to the window to pay. "Sorry, we don't have any Diet Coke left. Sorry, we don't have any Coke Zero left. Sorry, we don't have any Coke products left." WTF?

I then pay, accepting unsweeten tea and it is another ten minutes to get my order. Hello, anyone in there know what FAST food means? Driving back home the fries were especially nice [for once], but the Baconator was pitiful. Worse sampling I have ever had considering I've been ordering it for years. nothing says come back like taking almost a half hour to get my food and then having a completely disappointing time with it. Why I have not written into their corp contact is bewildering.

And I normally love Wendy's experiences.

Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite meal from any fast food. Never go wrong with it. I have it about once every two weeks. But I eat fast food a lot, probably twice a week. But the Big Mac, the Grand Mac is close, the newest one is very good.

Better than my stop at KFC, 5:30pm on a Friday, "sorry, we don't have any chicken"
No original or extra crispy, had to wait 30+ minutes. It's not like there was just a big rush. I heard employees complaining that "she sold all the chicken and pot pies, but never bothered to make more"

Had the same thing happen at KFC and Popeyes around 5:00-5:30pm multiple occasions. That time is before dinner rush time so I sort of understand.

Wendy's chicken sandwich is very decent imo but the fries is barely toleratable. I like curly fries from Arby's and cajun fries from Popeye's a lot better. I think those two places' fries are the top 2.

I used to get Wendy's Grilled Chicken Go Wrap. Then last summer they changed ingredients in the chicken breast seasoning to include an ingredient to which I am deathly allergic. Now I never go because that ingredient is in every non-drink item they sell. Wendy's now sucks.

And sadly unless you want to move up-market (a smidge) to something like 5 Guys or Wayback Burger Wendy's is about the best you can do for a fast-food burger on the East Coast.

wendy's was my favorite before they jacked up the price of the jr bacon cheeseburger. those were the days, bag of jbcs for $1/each (even $1.50 as late as 2 yrs ago) and i was set for the day.

now i just get mcmuffins

The all in one soda thing is great, and has a lot more options.
