Went out and test drove a 2007 Infinity G35 today (both Coupe and Sedan)

First time ever sitting in one...

The coupe was nice, but WOW, the Sedan rocked my world. Coming from a 160hp 4 banger, that 306hp V6 left a permanent smile on my face. Not to mention the very very nice interior, comfy seats, voice activated everything, touchscreen nav.... Even had a 9.5gb HD in dash to store cd's, CF slot, and AV input in the center console.

For 32k base (37 as tested), i was VERY VERY impressed. Pending how well the job market pans out, I might be looking infiniti's way....

The coupe was nice, but didn't have all the new features (they said next years model will have em), and the trunk was tiny.

i'm very impressed with the sedan. and the trunk on the coupe is worthless. "sorry, can't pick you up from the airport, i only have a big enough trunk for a bag of groceries."


it doesn't have ipod integration, right?

he said it did, but all i saw was the a/v (composite) inputs, so it didn't look like direct ipod integration like i would have hoped.

Oh, but go drive one...and suddenly the price just won't be a big deal.

I test drove a loaded last-gen G35 against a BMW 330i, and the BMW was just so much more refined it's not funny. I bet things haven't changed much.

The 3-series is still the benchmark for a reason.

But with a lack of reliability. I know so many people who go out and buy a nice bimmer only to end up having it fall apart. Their long-term quality is a shadow of what it used to be 10 years ago.

Buddy of mine at an old job had a 95 330, thing was perfect until somebody t-boned him a year and a half ago, totalling it. He went out and bought an 03 330, a year later and stuff is falling off of it, it rattles, and he's had it in the garage a couple times.

Too bad to, he says its a lot of fun.

335 is nice, but all the maintainese with the price premium just doesn't justify it for me. I'm gonna wait for the coupe to come out and test drive both of them. can't wait for the coupe to unveil in April.... 19 more days!!

YES G35 sedan. i HATE HATE HATE the coupe...it looks fugly compared to the sedan.

btw, the bmw 335i would be a good alternative (does the G35 have its engine twin-turbocharged...?), but it is more expensive.

That being said, I wouldn't get an infiniti with the build problems I have with my 350z. Lots of rattles and overall build quality isn't up to BMW/Lexus standards. Read the latest C&D article between the G35 and 328.

Aphex great choice!! the new Sedan is awesome and the G37 Coupe will be even better!!
and about the tiny trunk, that is a great excuse for friends not askin me to come pick them up

only get a IS350 if ur shorter than 5'10" and weigh less than 200 pounds
BMWs reliability sucks the interior is plain and ugly $5-10K more!!

not really.... i've heard decent stock setups, but aftermarket always sounds cleaner.

Levinson in the IS350? Aftermarket is better because you can have it anyway you want.

The year after they introduced the 260HP version, I owned a Honda Civic. My neighbor was this cocky ass guy who always had nice cars and toys. He came home one day with the G35 sedan and tossed me the keys and said "take it for a spin".

Haha, an hour later I rolled back into his driveway, he was pale white with his hands on his hips like a little biatch. Man, that was a fun ride. I guess he thought I'd drive it around the block and come back :evil:
