RELATED | Over 100 have cases tied to disgraced former CPD Sgt. Ronald Watts vacated Watts and another officer pleaded guilty in 2013 to stealing money from an FBI informant.

And this case doesn't appear to be tied to that of Jon Burge.

Has this case come up already in the thread?

This low profile helped insulate the GTTF from public scrutiny – and allowed it go rogue. For years its plainclothes officers went on a a crime spree that included robbing people they stopped on the streets, planting drugs and guns on innocent people, invading people’s homes and stealing from them as well as fraudulently charging the city for working overtime.

On social media, Richard Whitehead is a warrior for the American right. He has praised extremist groups. He has called for public executions of government officials he sees as disloyal to former President Donald Trump. In a post in 2020, he urged law enforcement officers to disobey COVID-19 public-health orders from “tyrannical governors,” adding: “We are on the brink of civil war.”

Whitehead also has a day job. He trains police officers around the United States.

Peeking out your window on a cold winter day is 'evading contact'?

The agents allegedly followed that man to a nearby parking lot, where he entered a vehicle to meet with Dotson. Agents moved in and found an open bag with about $34,000 in cash and a closed backpack in the back seat that contained a kilogram of cocaine, according to the now-dropped charges.

Back at the home on Kenneth Avenue, law enforcement observed a fourth former defendant peeking out a window before walking into the basement. The suspicious activity led the agents to believe “individuals in the residence were attempting to avoid contact with law enforcement,” according to the charges.

Agents entered the residence and conducted a search after allegedly getting consent. The agents did not have a search warrant.

Lawyers for the defendants filed a series of motions last year seeking to throw out evidence gleaned from the search, saying agents had no warrant or probable cause to enter the home.

Why doesn't anybody ever tell me this stuff?

Not the reason for the dismissal though. You'll have to read the article for that.

This isn't something unknown and its something I've been telling people for a long time. LOTS of police and Republicans have ties to white nationalist groups. They legit don't view it as a negative and regularly tout it until someone basically goes "hold up, you're bragging about being friends with white supremacists?" wherein they act like the DEA agent "there wasn't anything remotely racist about my racial profiling, its just fact, so its not racist at all, I'm not racist, look I've got a black grandkid!" type of idiocy because racists don't view their racism as racism ever.

Back in the 80s and 90s with the Satanic panic there were a bunch of crazy nutjobs that were training police on how to spot "Satanic cult activity" which included fucked up stuff like the "wink test" wherein they would blow air on a kid's asshole and if it "winked" they'd say it proved they'd experience ritualistic Satanic rape/sodomy. Among many many many insane fucked up things that were treated not just as objective truth but gospel to the point that licensed psychologists would even use such techniques. We're quickly going back that way.

I don't know what to make of that one. I recall that spread over here. Including the use of that specific "test".

Odd thing is, here the idea of an epidemic of "Satanic abuse" was largely perpetrated by "liberal" feminist social-workers and leftists like Beatrix Campbell. I have never really looked into it because the whole topic is so unpleasant (and it feels dangerous to pick a side without being 100% sure of one's ground), but what I heard at the time was that a lot of UK social workers attended workshops and lectures given by their US colleagues (who were heavily influenced by Christian conservatism) and bought the idea over here, shewn of its conservative Christian roots.

Use a different phrase, there really are centrists who will vote for the fascists if they keep hearing "defund".

Quite a weird one, this. "Training" got a bit too realistic and they killed one of 'their own'.

Los Angeles police officer was beaten to death by his fellow officers who were simulating a mob attack during a training exercise, his mother claims in a wrongful death lawsuit.

The guy who shot Tamir Rice was hired in a very small town. As soon as they found out, they protested. He quit immediately.
So, the system kinda works. I mean, he's still going for police jobs, but he isnt keeping them.

No, that is NOT a system that works, that is system failure, corrected by the citizens.

Locally, a cop was fired for beating a man with his hands handcuffed behind his back. Got a job in a neighboring county. Unpopular in that county, so now he's a cop in a neighboring state. The system is flawed.

Story's a bit short on detail. Don't know if the idea was he was trying to plant the stuff to stitch-up someone else, or if he just had it on him and picked the worst possible moment to be careless. The former would be more classic police heinousness, the latter would be weirdly funny.

On 28 December 2019, DS Stanley was present when officers from Surrey Police were responding to a call to a residential address.

While at the scene, the officers observed DS Stanley dropping a small package from his pocket which was later confirmed to contain cocaine.
