Were the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions good movies?

Who cares about reviews, they were awesome movies. The Matrix Reloaded got 7.1/10 and The Matrix Revolutions got 6.5/10 on imdb.

Personally I thought Reloaded was bearable since it had decent and plentiful action sequences. Revolutions on the other hand was just terrible, especially the acting, and my god Trinitys goodbye speech just won't end it was so loooong and agonizing to watch.

i actually liked part 1 and 2. but part 3 wasn't good at all. like it ruined it all.

I'd like to see a complete redo of the franchise. The plot has tons of potential and yet still reletive after so many years. Their all worthy rentals though.
Also, i did dislike the "to be continued" crap. True there never was an actual sequal. Story started off great then got pretty funky by part 3.

I think the Matrix would have made for a decent television series if they had not ended it... maybe they could do one based on one of the earlier iterations of the one that chose to rebuild Zion.

Actually I thought Reloaded was pretty good until nearing the end where they escape the ship and neo has the same moment he had against Agent Smith in the hall... Instead of stopping bullets though he stops the machines. I'm like, "Alright, no, fuck you movie. You cannot just be like, 'NEO IS A GOD, OR WE'RE IN MULTIPLE LEVELS OF THE MATRIX'." That's where it jumped the shark essentially in my book.

BUT compared to the original matrix, none of them are even the same kind of movie when you think about the questions and ideas that the first one imposed. It's hard to one up that shit.

First one was awesome. Other two were major disappointments. Only thing that made me happy is that they were released pretty close to each other so that the pain could end quickly.

They weren't too bad, but when judged against the original Matrix they weren't very good at all. The original Matrix was simply revolutionary when it was released. I knew nothing of the movie and when I was watching it I was blown away. It was epic and I went to the theater to watch it maybe 8 or 9 times.

The other ones I've maybe watched 2 times total.

The Matrix was/is a Sci-Fi classic that should be viewed as a stand-alone piece of work, perhaps the Animatrix as a companion piece, but that's it.

Reloaded was a decent action flick, but really had no true beginning or end.

Revolutions was a complete and utter disgrace in every way. Even the post-production work went downhill from 1 and 2. And the storyline was just trash.

I thought all 3 were good. As a stand alone movie the Matrix was one of the greatest of its time, but that time has passed. If it came out today it wouldn't be as exciting, but good nonetheless. That said - prior to releasing the Matrix, their advertising / marketing team knew how to play it out. EVERYONE was like WTH is the Matrix??? Since that was uncovered in the first movie, how do you build up such an awesome plot again? It is rough.

So with that said they went for action and a decent plot, although completely strayed from the first. The first should be viewed as its own movie, with 2 and 3 building off each other. I like all 3.

The Matrix was a great movie, but its ending did not signal good things for the sequels. The moment Neo went Super Saiyan and started flying through the air, you knew nothing good was to come.
