Were you in a Frat?

I'm a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. We're a nationally dry fraternity. And 95% of our members are engineering majors (I suppose it helps that I go to an engineering school ).

I agree, the whole 'buying friends' story is a bunch of nonsense. Actually, it costs less here to live in a house than it does to live in the dorms.

Also, a few grand a semester?!? Are you kidding me? I live in a fraternity house, and with dues, room, and board, I pay about $150 less than living in the dorms. Get your facts straight.

thats not always true. my roomate recently joined a frat and i know for a fact that he's spent well over a grand just this quarter, and he's not even living in the frat house. Seeing the stuff he does i think its the biggest waste of time and money ive ever seen, but it might just be this particular case

I was in a house. Some of the stereotypes are true to an extent, most are BS.You can find houses straight out of Animal house but my house wasn't like that. I really enjoyed my time in the house. I still hang out with the guys that I became friends with, definitely a lifelong type thing. We didn't haze, we weren't meatheads, it was definitely a great stretch of time in my life.

Well, basically, you pay $500 to meet people and do stuff (mostly drink for the members, clean up afterwards for the initiates) . . ..

I'm still in a university and no, I don't like to buy my friends.:disgust: - I have better things to throw away my money on.
