i was gonna do this deal after seeing it at phatwallet, but decided that $40 is too much for me. i was thinking it was $30 but didn't see the thread til today which means no $90 rebate, only $80

4/5 CCs around here won't do PM to Sam's and then only if its like pennies.

Asb002, you're right. I asked to PM they figured out all the tax and rebate info and then went from there.

Good luck with those rebates! Every CC manager I've spoken with told me that the rebates aren't going to be honored if you do a pricematch.

Bought this drive, CC price matched Costco today at 119.99. Now I need to send in the rebate but having problems reading the address cause my form is poorly printed. Anybody have the address for the $30 WD rebate. I can read the following:

CircuitCity updated it's rebate terms. I don't remember them exactly, but check it out. There's something about how if you do a pricematch it only gives you the difference between them or something like that.

Rebates will be no good.

Last time I tried to get in on a sweet HD deal at CircuitCity they wouldn't PM to Sams Club for me either. I tried another store and they said they wouldn't give the PM since it's "practically free" after the rebate as they said exactly.

There are 2 CC's in KC. Not one would PM to Sams. But officemax did PM Sams...And CC would PM officemax. I just returned the officemax HD when I was done with the PM's...

it's not $40 after rebate if bought directly from Sams.
CC is the one that's carrying the rebate.

Best Buy specifically says on their receipts you will not get a rebate if you Price Match + you're told verbally by the cashiers.

Some circuit city stores have the employees tell you verbally that you will not get a rebate if you price match but I don't think it's anywhere in writing like it is at Best Buy, what's the latest on this?

But with Circuit City, the trick is to buy the drive at Circuit City first, take the rebates, then come back and pricematch afterwards.

If they reject you because the drive is on rebates there at CC, come back next week and they should honor it, and you can mail in the rebates as well.

AFAIK Circuit City doesn't check for pricematch when honoring rebates, as the rebates go to a different office than the regular sales. Best Buy does however.

$50 is MFR's rebate and should be honored regardless anyway.

They also have a policy that you can't use online rebates for in-store purchases and vice vera.

In regards to them telling you verbally, their policies aren't verbal agreements. Everything that they tell you IS IN FACT IN WRITING. Read the rebate terms. If they just TELL you that the rebates are no good, it wouldn't matter.
