So if you plan to buy in your local store check to see what ad is running in your city.

Not to crap, but this is YMMV. OMax's new policy is not to allow coupons on FAR items, but maybe you can call and get a CS rep that won't know or care.

That only on phone orders, not on orders placed through their web site or in the stores.

Do you mean starting Sunday 7-27?

No, they meant starting Sunday 7/20. Check out the bottom of the first page of the ad, and it says the prices are good 7/20 thru 7/26.

For those member in the Western time zone, there's a $30 off $150 printable Staples coupon that expires today (Friday 7-18), that you may be able to use in a Officemax store to do a buy now/return Sunday thing for this deal.

Yeah, I was wondering too. Are any of them possibly a lite-on rebadge? Also what burning software is included?

Question: Which markets have the cendyne for FAR? I'm in Florida, and dont see it! :-

To answer somes questions.........the cendyne MAY be a lite-on. they used to use them for their 48x drives. The last time I saw one though was around christmas.

The last one I got was a BenQ Model4824P, but it was actually overclockable to 52x.

OHHHH! NOOOO! :disgust: it looks like Officemax is going to the rotating weekly ad format like they did last summer.

BTY: ZowieHowie, I did see the cendyne for FAR ad in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, so it may be in other areas in Florida too.

This looks like a good deal, but OM removed the Western Digital 40GB hard drive (20019515) from the website overnight. Last night, after midnght, I had gone to the front OM webpage and clicked on the "Get $30 off $150" ad. Then, I selected the hard drive, the Cendyne burner (20182491), and the paperclips (09015424). Even though the special prices hadn't yet started, the shopping cart was ready to go, then I selected "Save This List". Back this morning, the hard drive has disappeared from my list (but it's showing $10 cheaper). I search for the drive, and I find it, but it shows "available only in stores". So, looks like they're trying to limit availability of using the coupon online in combination with the weekly special.

5 rebates for three items.
A secretarial work for these ought to be worth something, not to mention taxes, postages, and stationary.

Filing 5 rebates, copying and storing all the papers, mailing the rebates, and tracking them thereafter, following up if they are late or denied requires at least 2 hours of work. Plus good nerves and more time if telephone calls are needed. This is a great deal unless your wages are more than $15 an hour. Excellent deal for people working in fast food business (without tips).

Looks like OM took the Khypermedia 48x24x48 Internal CD-RW Drive (#20326461) off their web stie too! Now both the WD 40GB and this CD-RW are gone.

Officemax does that every week to keep the hot deal people from buy all the good stuff before anyone else can place a order. The items will be back online tomorrow when they update the web site.

This deal can be turned into "$FREE" by taking advantage of an unadvertised $10 OM-MIR (#41P). While the rebate doesn't explicitly state that it accepts a UPC COPY, as most of us know, when there's 2 rebates available on the same item, the ORIGINAL UPC goes to the MFR, the COPY goes to OMAX. Furthermore, in my experience, on-line submitted OMAX REBATES @ Parago always state at the end that they'll accept an ORIGINAL OR COPY of the UPC CODE.

The hard drive was active again at 12:05AM EST or so, but the Cenedyne 48X is not reflecting the $10 IR on the ad. The Khypermedia drive is still not coming up.

Man, I'm not staying up all night just for this... I'd better see either the Khypermedia drive availible or the Cendyne adding to the cart @ $70 when I wake up in the morning...

Well I saw both drives online briefly before the site died on me. The Cendyne was listed at 79.99 and Khypermedia at 70.

Edit: nm site's back up
