Store in Edina, MN has a bunch left. 80,160,200,300's. All with sale prices in effect. No SATA, I don;t think they even carry them. But I did pick up a 200gb for $50.

i went to my officemax first thing in the morning. Saw four 320gb. Was like sweet. I'll take two. Go up to the cashier, it rings up at $169.99. I showed him the 50% off which he offered to do but still wasnt the $60 post by the OP. So I ended up not getting any since $85 isnt exactly a good deal on a 320gb.

this was sugarland, tx. i asked him if pricing were in effect and he said they should be, but he wasnt sure. This was the manager btw.

so it was a ymmv for me.

Do not call!

?

It's an ad, if they're not aware of what they're advertising they shouldn't be employees in the first place. I think that's more the case with price mistakes and clearance.

The operative word here is shouldn't, but I guess if you have to travel an hour to see if they have one then calling might just be a necessity. But then again, burning that much fuel might negate the savings (not to mention it might decrese fuel supply and drive up fuel prices even more, add to the pollution in the environment and increase the congestion on our roadways.)

But seriously, you are right that that is more of a clearance/mistake thing.

Can I get a receipt for a 250...they scanned as $110...and that was it. Guy at counter said that was the final price...then he got the manager, the manager said it was up to 50% off...mark down to $110 from $139...so that was the price, $110...and they would not give me the 50% off...then drove the 30min to the other OM in the area, they were out of all WD HD's .....so again, can someone get me a receipt for a 250 so I can go make them give it to me for the $55?

If anyone is in the Bryan / College Station area- the store had a 200 gb harddrive left but it isn't SATA so I didn't pick it up. Looked fairly picked clean to me.

Just got back from my local one (San Francisco, CA Harrison St.). All the 250gb and 320gb are gone and the 200gb is only marked as 10 percent off. Tried to get them to lower it but the douche behind the counter said he couldn't, he had a smirk on his face so I'm guessing he probably bought either the 250gb or 320gb for cheap.

At least I know not to bother then. Thanks for the heads-up!

Edit: I would have wanted a 320 of course. And I have a few SATA->IDE adapters so IDE wouldn't have been an issue for me.

Grabbed a 250 gig in Willoughby, OH off the clearance rack for $55 + tax. It was labeled as $110, but rang up as $55. It was the last one they had over 80 gig. Thanks op!

I am a Supervisor at OfficeMax in Baxter, MN (small town in Northern MN)

Unless there was a mistake with the price downloads to some of the stores, those drives should have been really cheap. I got my 200 gb for around $60

Hah, no problem. Gig'em Aggies, etc. Yeah, I'm running some pata on adapters right now but I figured that 300 SATA drives would run faster than converted ATA drives. If I'm wrong, I might be able to save some cash as well.

I'm pretty sure OfficeMax doesn't carry raptor drives.

Officemax in Kenosha, WI had only one 200GB and one 160GB. I didn't even bother checking for the discounted price. There was no pricing on unit or shelf, only a shelf tag saying "up to 50% off." I would have picked up a 320GB for $60 plus tax if they had it like that.

Thanks OP. I ended up with a 160 gig for $24.50. (rang up at $50 and used 9 empty ink tanks to get $27 off)
