Looked up a few consumer reviews on this and they all seemed to like it. Seems like a steal at this price. Saddly while getting it for a dual monitor setup would be cool, my new laptop has taken over all my computer duties except games, so id never end up using it. :/

I like mine I have owned for about 3 months. Good color, minimal (I don't notice coming off of a CRT) ghosting, and the only issue I have is the viewing angle. It isn't a Dell ultrasharp in that respect, but it is still good. Now I have to resist picking another one up!

I think it's a 6 bit panel (16.2 million colors). Also only got a 1 year warranty.

The Hanns-G 19 inch widescreen (also 6 bit) has a 3 year warranty.

Have no idea who makes the actual panel in either, but the Westy at Best Buy had what looked a very cheap plastic casing. Haven't had a chance to go over to Office Depot and look at the Hanns-G 19 inch widescreen display they have there (191, vs similar 199 at NewEgg)

EDIT: Best Buy also had the 22 inch widescreen Westinghouse LCD on sale for $399. Looked ok in the store.

I picked up one of the 19" Widescreen versions ($159.99) and one of the regular screen 19" models for $179.99. Both models on display and in stock at my local BB. Display settings for each were, as usual, cranked up when I got there. Set them both to mid-range and they still looked bright and sharp, even compared to the higher-priced models sitting nearby.

Will set them up tonight, but can't complain about the price or about what I saw in the store.

**Update** I set up the regular 19" model (not the one in the title of the thread) and its an excellent replacement for a 4 year old 19" CRT monitor. That old monitor's 19" screen was 17.5" viewable, so the LDC panel is noticeably bigger.

No dead pixels. Excellent color, contrast, sharpness, even with mid-range settings. Definately a hot deal for $180.

Well BB hasnt credited my account for my returns and almost every BB near me is sold out.

I just got one of these. They had at least 5 more on the shelf at Mission Valley, San Diego. About to set it up right now. One down-side is that it does not come with a DVI cable. Anyone know where I can get a cheap DVI cable?

For anybody who picked up the 19" widescreen version, can you reply if there was a clear plastic (mylar) protective sheet over the LCD panel? I just opened the one I picked up yesterday for my son. The panel had the usual foam packaging to cushion from shock and was wrapped inside a foam-type of bag but that's it.

When I opened the regular 19" panel I got for my wife, it had that packaging AND a clear plastic sheet over the panel itself for protection.

Just curious what the rest of you found.

I did not have any clear protective sheet over the LCD on mine. It was clearly an unopened package though, and I have zero dead/stuck pixels. I wouldn't worry about the sheet not being there.
