Oh yeah its quite hot, if it only had a DVI as well along with the VGA & HDMI I would have jumped on it, but for this price you really cannot complain.

Just get a $5 HDMI-to-DVI adapter from Monoprice.

Pretty hot OP

Anyone know much about the 1900x1200 resolution issue this monitor has? I've seen it in a bunch of reviews and not sure how much of a pain in the ass it'd be.

Right now I've got 2 19" Dell ultrasharps and im thinking of going to this... think its worth it?

Here are some reviews on NewEgg, seems like the HDMI hook up is nothing but problems to a PC.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530s with the HDMI port on the ATI Radeon HD 3400. Does anyone have any success stories with this monitor and video card( or a similar one) using the HDMI port?

fwiw, i purchased one of these from BB several months ago and can confirm the hdmi connection does have signal issues @1920x1200. i had to resort to using the dsub connector to correctly display @1920x1200. visuals still looked nice and clear but it would have been nice to utilize the hdmi connection. oh well, mama's still happy w/ it!

That's not good. I would much prefer a digital connection at that resolution. Sure it wasn't just a shoddy HDMI cable?

could have been considering it came w/ the monitor, but unfortunately i didn't have another cable to try at the time.

even w/ the dsub connection the monitor displayed nicely.

From one of the reviews:

"Monitor comes with DVI to HDMI cable"

So the No DVI thing should be no big deal (and you can get these adapters cheap from monoprice).

This would double nicely as a TV, since I don't need a tuner/etc (just HDMI)- how does it display 1080P content- black bars top/bottom?

I got mine today. It will not do 1900x1200 only 1900x1080 with the DVI. Using the VGA it does go the full resolution. I tried a different DVI-HDMI cable with no luck, but the VGA looks fine. Playing WOW was awesome. I also hooked my DVD player into it and that is where it shined.

Or like me, get a DVI to HDMI cable. DVI and HDMI are pretty much the same anyways.

Great price. DVI-HDMI cables can sometimes let you use DVI output w/ HDMI input, but I've run into issues with it before with a macmini and a different display. I have a 1366x768 display that would only be driven at proper 720p, so either I would have black bars on all 4 sides, or I could just use the VGA input.

A coworker told me that a gfx updater fixes this issue, but I haven't bothered testing it again.

If you are lucky enough to have a video card with an HDMI interface built in, I found a way to get 1900 x 1080 with an HDMI cable with the ATI Catalyst Control Center.

Set Your Display to 1920x1080 in the options there, make sure the Refresh Rate is @ 60Htz. Apply the Setting, then you'll have the black space around the monitor(don't worry, we'll fix this next)

Under the DTV(DHMI) 3 Tree (or something similar depending on your Video Card's abilities, There is an option called "Scaling Options" I moved the bar all the way to the Right Towards Overscan, and I have 1920x1080 with HDMI in Full Screen.

Hopefully this helps the ATI'ers and might give an idea of where a setting might be available for those with NVIDIA cards.
