Yeah, the slow shipping seems to be normal. Mine still hasn't shipped and I ordered on 5/31 also. Fortunately, I'm not in a huge hurry anymore. My 22" CRT was freaking out on me on and off, so I ordered the Westy. Well, ever since I placed the order, the 22" is working perfect without a hiccup... absolutely as gorgeous as it has been for years. I think it's trying to give me buyer's remorse. I know all I have to do is cancel the order and it will get all squirrelly again.

I ordered mine on 5/28 and it didn't ship until 5/31. There's a lag with Costco processing the orders it looks like. Everybody is getting it so I wouldn't worry. Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait!

I can pick up the Olevia 37" 237T locally for 670.00 OTD. How much better is this Westy? Anyone know?
Thanks

Oh, I do know the Westy is a 1080P, and the Olevia is not

Are you sure it isn't the 337T? I could be wrong though.

That depends on two things:

1) How do you plan on using the LCD? To watch HDTV or use it as a huge ass LCD and gaming?

2) What's your HDTV source? If you have a cable box then definitely get this Westy 37".

Take a few minutes (or hours) and read the posts here:

It's the 237T. I would use OTA HDTV until I get the HDTV box. Also, for use as a PC monitor. I game about an hour a week, so not that important. Thanks fpr the link

As long as you plan on having a cable box, then I would definitely buy the Westy.

Oh man oh man. So it arrived today. UPS dropped it off in front of my parents garage and left it without a sig as I thought they might! Lucky for me it was there when I got to their house. Somebody could have jacked it easily. I should have left a note for the UPS guy to take it back to the distrib center and that I'd pick it up there. Oh well.
Now I've just got to get it back to my apartment. It's not heavy, but the box is too bulky for one person to carry. I'd take it outta the box but I don't want it getting effed up on the trip over. Time to call up my buddies and offer free beer in exchange for a set of hands. Once I get it hooked up and working I'll take some pics for you guys. I plan on hooking it up to the pc via the dvi, dvd via the components(crappy dvd player) and tomorrow when the cable dude comes with the digital HD box via the HDMI.

so i've had it for a week now and it's been great. some things i noticed:

when i connected to the pc (through vga) i noticed that there was ghosting on the images (sort of like dropshadows). after doing some research i'm thinking it's because of the length of my cord (12'). kinda lazy to get another one and test. also, you can not do picture in picture with one input being the computer. not sure if it would work if you connected it through dvi. hmm... what if you connect 2 pc's through both inputs and do PIP? someone want to try?

anyways, i also tried other equipment by using an hdmi>dvi cable. weird thing is that dvi2 plays just fine. everything else is scrambled on dvi1. i'm not sure if there's something wrong with my unit or if there's some hdcp deal going on with only one side. weird. anyone else experiencing something similar?

now i'm just trying to find the best settings. i don't like the presets at all. overall the image is excellent.

Dont forget to use DVI-D (dual link) cables (24+1 pin variety)

Dual DVI is not required for resolutions up to and including 1920x1200

Well I got my buddy to help me bring it home and hook it up last night and all I can say is wow! I had it standing next to my Dell 24" and it's massive. I remember thinking the same thing when I bought the 24 inch and saw it next to my 20 inch.
First thing we did was hook up my dvd/vcr to it. It's a pretty crappy player that I got a Wal Mart for like 40 bucks and I was using it for a tuner. We didn't have any component video cables so we tried hooking it up to the S-Video connector and the composite video connector. S-Video definitely looked better, but closer than 3-4 feet it didn't look so hot. I'll have to get some component wires and see how it looks with those.
The next thing we did was hookup my pc to it. We used the second DVI hookup and when it booted into Windows it was friggin' gorgeous. The image quality was as good, if not better than my 2405. I thought I'd be seeing some pixelation since the Dell did 1200 pixels vertically and the Westy only has 1080 and is a good couple inches taller, but it still looks great and all the text and icons are easier to read as they are larger. The guys on AVSForum weren't kidding when they said this must have been designed as a computer monitor. Playing the DVD on the computer we of course noticed a big difference in image quality. Since it was running through the DVI we were probably seeing the full 480p of the dvd.
We also tried out Battlefield 2 on it. At first I couldn't get the game to load up and then I realized it was because I had the game resolution set to 1600 x 1200 and the Westy wasn't able to display 1200 pixels vertically. Got the Dell out and hooked that up to the pc so we could change the resolution and save the settings. Once we had BF up it wasn't stretching to the wide screen so we had to use the Fill feature under the settings for the tv. This stretches the image to fit the screen. Battlefield looked gorgeous at maxed settings running on the Westinghouse.
Tired of messing around with it, we put on Flyboys that my friend had encoded into x264 and just chilled out for the rest of the night. I know I promised pics and everything, but my internet is being hooked up this afternoon so you'll have to be patient. I'll get them up once the FIOS is in.

Yeah, all I have is a DVI-D 18pin single linkcable from my Dell and it works fine with that. I was reading up on DVI and all the dual and single stuff ahead of time though to make sure it would work. I wanted to be able to try it out with the pc right away.

I ordered it on May 31 at like 5PM, sent an email to customer service to cancel the order maybe 2 hours later, and on June 1 it shipped before they read the damn email. It was delivered and returned yesterday.

I almost got this one. The only thing that stopped me was the contrast ratio of 1000:1. My Samsung 215TW PC LCD is also 1000:1, and the only complaint I have is the grays and blacks while watching HDTV. I think I'll wait for a better contrast ratio. Still, a good deal though.

As promised pics of the new set. This is running the Cablevision digital IO cable so there's HD channels and SD channels. I've got it hooked up through the components right now but I'll probably pick up an HDMI cable at some point. I still need to get some pics with the pc hooked up to it.

I just got the tv today and loving it so far along with Verizon TV...but the Verizon installer could not get the remote for the STB to turn the TV on or change the volume...well i guess he couldn't get it to work with the tv just the STB. So does anyone have this problem or not. He tried all of the codes on the list and none of them worked, but he said there was a dummy code I could try that would automatically find the code for the tv and set it. Anyone have any ideas???
