Indeed, this monitor looks the best at BB. I only worry about low relibility of Westinghouse products, like the monitor can die after couple years.

DVI doesn'r carry audio, so no way. What's a reason in audio? Do you think it has good speakers?

BTW what's TN stand for?

The Soyo has a high failure/defect rate both out of box and over time. Soyo's look better if you monkey around to get one that works to begin with and don't mind with the aggravation of potentially having to get it replaced a couple times once you've had it a little while and then having it die out of warranty. Westinghouse is a pretty good brand and reviews all were positive of this model so it's decent quality even if it's no S-IPS.

That isn't strictly true. Some newer, high end cards (I believe 2900) will send audio and video from dvi-hdmi.

If anyone gets this, I would highly recommend you get a squaretrade warranty for it for the heck of it. Super cheap those things are. If you've bought anything off ebay or anything really cheap, but a squaretrade warranty for that. I bought something off ebay and bought a warranty for it and it gave me an offer for 30% off retail warranty. Got a nice, cheap extended warranty on my new laptop for $50 for 3 yrs. Not bad at all.

Okay, yea just got it... blown away, great monitor (excuse my sentence fragmentation). I read some so-so reviews of this thing but honestly, from subjective views (at BB compared to every other monitor on the floor) and next to my Acer glossy 20" widescreen side-by-side, this monitor really lays down the law as far as performance goes(not to mention bang-for-the-buck but if this were a more established brand name monitor, it would have been much more expensive). I got it with a 7800GS to upgrade my aging AGP system and I feel like this machine will last me another couple of years now. HDTV looks great on it as well as my XBOX 360.

BTW, TN stands for twisted nematic. I'm not qualified to explain what it means in terms of LCDs but I'm sure Mr. Wiki can help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD

Hmm, how does everyones standard def TV look on it? Anyone tried hooking up a Gamecube or another game system that outputs 640x480? I hooked up my SNES (which outputs 320x240 native) and the pixels were yea. I might just need to hook up any standard def gaming systems I have to my computer, then run an upscaler through that.

I think that'd be the best way to go ghost recon. The SD TV is pretty bad and from a review I caught online, looks great only when running through an upscaler (especially non HD/Bluray DVDs.

Soyo deal looks much better for me. However it will expire in 2 days. I do not care about fewer inputs, DVI and analog a sufficient for me.My worry just see more dramatic price drop for all 24" LCD in next two months.

If you're playing games that old, may as well run them through an emulator. If you physically own the games, I believe there's nothing wrong with that. I've been playing Dragonforce emulated on SSF since my Saturn died and I can tell you it's the way to go.

There's tons of controllers which'll work on pc and on pc most of the emulators don't get the input lag nearly as bad as the old consoles did. And saving state on SNES is a huge benefit IMV.

yea. I just got Project64, and running am running my old N64 games with the AA cranked up, @ 1920x1200, and all the filtering on and it looks gobs and gobs better, plus I got an adapter so I can use my Gamecube controller on my PC. Same goes with the ZSNES.

Aside from the inputs the soyo doesn't take any of the console resolutions like the westinghouse (480p,720p/1080). Thats a big sell point for me, but if Westinghouse has indeed switched over to TN panels then forget it.

I've said it many times before, but I'm going to hold out for black friday and hope for the best!

My cart shows $359.99 + $13.32 S&H + $22.40 (6% sales tax) = $395.71!!!!

$395.71 @ BestBuy -vs- $349.99 AR @ Newegg...tough choice. eh?

do any of the BB coupons work on lcd monitors? I'd rather get it at BB than newegg, so if it has any issues I can easily exchange it for another one (deal pixels)

Sorry, I'm a little tired . Why would u pay S&H at BB when you can just pick it up at the store?? Still more expensive, but not $395.71.

Well, I just walked in the store on Sunday and they had them, so I dunno why they would say that. Strange.

How have people's experiences been with stuck/dead pixels with this monitor? I have 2 stuck (red) pixels off to the left corner on the monitor and I'm debating doing an exchange (got it at Best Buy). Any thoughts?
