Yes it seems perfect for that movie... Anyway, rapidshare doesn't seem to allow direct downloading or caching of the file, so I could only get a bitmap of that image (unless I am doing something wrong - I tried to get the original jpg in both explorer and firefox). Could you just email me the original file? Thanks again.

pretty nice price, especially if you have a 10/12% coupon to drop it down to $324 plus tax. I didnt read it in this thread but is this westy HDCP compliant?

Yup, the Westy is HDCP compliant.

I got mine for $345 out the door. It was the last one left at my local store. Associate said
no more were expected in anytime soon. I used a 10% off movers coupon, but it didn't
originally take. Since the wording doesn't specifically exclude monitors, the cashier applied
it manually. Had I not brought it to her attention, I wouldn't have gotten the discount. The
associate also told me they were revising their return policy starting 3/1/08. My store
currently has a 30-day/no restocking fee, but will switch to 14-day/15% restock fee when the
new policy goes in effect. Some stores evidently already do this, so check with your local
store regarding their policy.

About the buzzing noise...
Since Boxing Day, I tried 6 units, finally got one with zero dead pixel. Wow, 1 out of 6, poor yield! All 6 had the buzzing noise, some are slightly louder. Unfortunately, the price is now $370 compared to $330.

VGA port has the brightness mapped to the backlight. The Picture/Text/Econo modes change the backlight which generates the buzz. The brightness control behavior is different than other LCD or via PC video.

HDMI port has separate brightness and backlight controls. I connected it to the PS3 on HDMI. The Picture/Text/Econo modes change the backlight which generates the buzz. The brightness control does not generate the buzz.

This inconsistency would explain why some people don't hear it, because there is no buzz from the brightness control on HDMI. I believe the buzz is in all the units if the VGA port is used. Don't know about HDMI via DVI adapter.

I think a new firmware is required, to decouple the brightness and backlight in VGA mode.

I have various ACERS and one NEC and one cheap DELL, don't recall they offer backlight control. The backlight controller uses an inverter and buzz is common.

I just picked up the 2410NM, it is a great monitor, especially for the money. BB has them for $350 this week. returned a 22" TN that I bought the other day and got this instead. Only complaint is no dvi-hdmi cable included, seems kind of cheap not to include one, BB wants $60 for one, lol. Ordered one, see how it looks with a digital signal in a couple days.

I just picked up the 24 Westy and there is the noise below 98 brightness but with total silence in my room I cant hear it, I have to put my ear up directly against the Back of the LCD to hear it, cant even hear it from the front in a silent room. I do see the screen door effect on the top right /right side of the screen. I honestly would Never have noticed it unless I knew what to look for. And I can barely even tell when I am inches away from the screen, granted I have only been able to test it via the VGA connect and everything works great so far. My DVI-HDMI cable from monoprice should be here tomorrow so I will check to see if it has the same effect, but there are no more of these screens in any store nearby so I am either stuck with this one or take it back. I will check a few days to see if the screen door thing bothers me at all, I am just thinking for the price I paid its still nothing to complain about.

My local store has been getting a couple every now and then. Have them check their system for other possible locations.

i've also been interested in the 24" westinghouse for a while now. although it used to be 350 after rebate+shipping at newegg. now it is about 30 bucks more expensive. 410+about 20shipping-50MIR=380. i don't mind the blue screen because i currently turn off the power manually anyway so no biggie. humming noise MIGHT be a problem, but nothing i can't get used to(my computer fans used to sound like an airport). one question i do have is i want to play my Nintendo Wii on this. will i be able to play my Wii AND be on the computer surfing the net or whatever else at the same time?

also, does anyone know where they sell it the cheapest? newegg jacked the price up some.

I think this model has been discontinued, no longer on BB web site. Newegg and tigerdirect have them for $360 AR. Might check locally at BB, Sam's etc, may find one left.

I bought the westy @ BB two weeks ago and no dead pixels at all. The only complain is the lack of DVI connection and the buttons location. Love it

lack of DVI is Very minor when you can grab a DVI-HDMI cable for less than 5 bucks at monoprice. I really dont know why anyone complains about the buttons on the side, they are fine other than the fact that they aren't labeled from the front like most manufactures do. But I ended up keeping the westy I got and just adding in the extended warranty with BB for 4 years so incase there are other issues that come up other than the screen door I can always get a credit for the monitor and grab another one.

Both can be hooked up, but the Westy doesn't do PIP if that is what you are asking.

well i bought this. no dead pixels. and i get the humming when i adjust the brightness below 98, but that is easily fixed by adjusting the settings using CCC, so i don't know why people are complaining so much about it. going to hook my wii up to it later and test it out.

I was reading around and ran across this thread. I just purchased the Westinghouse 24" a week ago and so far so good. I have the screen door issue, but it's barely noticeable. Otherwise it's a pretty good unit, especially for $329 at BB. I got a DVI - HDMI cable at Wall(to wall chaos)Mart for $30. I've been looking for a 24" lcd that would pivot to landscape mode, but to find a non-TN for this price I jumped on it. Which leads me to the main reason for posting here. I just purchased a replacement stand from Amazon for $35 free shipping that will allow the monitor to do landscape mode. I've read a couple reviews saying that it does work with the Westinghouse, and since the stock stand is complete poo... link.....

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...f=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I'll post back when I get it and add a couple pictures. I figure if for some reason it doesn't work I can stick it on my wife's 225bw.

Wow! $30?? Take it back and get better quality from the link below for cheaper.

Next time you go for a cable, look no further than Monoprice.com

It was an instant gratification thing. I wanted to see what the monitor could really do and decide if I should just box it back up and wait for something else to come along. I've purchased and resold all kinds of cabling before so I know just how much stores mark that stuff up. BB probably makes more profit from all the "extras" when they sell a big ticket item than the item itself. If BB was the only place to buy one ($60) I would have gone to the web. I wish I still had my at cost connections

Thanks for the link though, they only appear to be marking up about %25 on singles. Not bad. I shall bookmark that one. As far as quality, eh, it's all about the same unless you're looking for ultra durable or really long runs.
