Gah tempting... I need a new tv... its such a tough decision to choose between a good 32ish inch sony or other tier 1 brand or a much larger Westy or Vizio...

600 bucks is so cheap... even by my poor ass standards..........

Yeah I am in a similar position. I was planning on selling my 65" pretty soon for around $800, and I was planning on saving up for a 52" G10 for ~$1,500. But I think I could probably live with this until I have the money for a G10.

remember there is no tuner so technically it is a monitor (not a big deal these days as most people have set top boxes)

Ah thanks for that info Elganja, I did not notice that. I don't watch much TV, only thing I watch is over antenna. But that might make it harder to resell if I decide to resell.

Could this be something to replace a Dell 2408WFP? Would the quality be comparable?

Dang what happened to shipping? I was looking earlier today and it was $40 for shipping, now its up to $80. Anyone ever bought a large display from TigerDirect before? Do they offer white glove or anything?

Yeah. I would use a bit of caution w/ Tiger direct and such a high priced item as well. While their prices are competitive, the level of customer service some experience is just bizarre. This is off topic but related:

I just ordered a BFG video card from them that advertised a free FC 2 game with it a month ago. When I didn't get the game, I called them up and they indicated that I need to get the game directly from the manufacturer (BFG). I called BFG knowing full well that this wasn't going to get me anywhere (to call them up and just ask for a game that TD was advertising on their website). BGF indicated that this promo was over about 6 months ago and they were getting alot of calls on this recently as TD was deferring people to them erroneously. They indicated that I needed to call the people that were advertising the OEM game. As luck would have it, I called TD back and got the same rep. I asked him why he sent me on a wild goose chase. He changed the subject. He stated he was looking right at the item and it did not advertise a free game (as if he knew he issue all along and was just trying to "get rid of" another caller). I advised that this was all well and good but at the time I purchased it (a week prior) that they were. Now oddly enough for some reason, I took a screen print when I ordered. I think it was because I had never ordered from TD and had heard the horror stories. So he said, "well sorry, it's not advertised anymore, maybe it was an error, you can return the item if you like." I advised him I had the screen print. I emailed him, he saw the screen print and still stated he could not do anything. I then started a paypal dispute advising I did not get the item(s) that I purchased. After the dispute and a few more emails. I finally got the rep to refer the issue to a manager. I got the OEM game in the mail after I threatened to pursue the issue further.

I spent about 2 hrs of my life for a $ 20 OEM game. And they were acting like they were not going to budge until I provided my own evidence and started disputing stuff. I will never buy from TD again after this issue. And I will gladly share my story to anyone who will listen. So I ask you if this price is worth it if you have to deal with some type of return or dead pixel issue? I would use a bit of caution here. *Steps off soapbox*.......(And returns to Newegg homepage.....)

yeah tigerdirect's CS is lacking. I don't worry if an item will arrive in good condition though. As they ship just as well as newegg does. Truthfully I only buy from them because the tax in california is getting so high that deals are really no longer deals. If you buy that monitor at the same price at newegg you are looking at a price increase of $70+ after tax and associated fees, which does not include shipping.

Tigerdirect's pricematch policy is also lacking, I asked them about it and they basically said that they price match under their discretion. When i asked them to price match something for me, they basically said they couldn't because while it wasn't as low as newegg's it was apparently "competitive" enough.

I am close to buying this, anyone suggest where to get a warranty from? I don't really want to go through TigerDirect. Would SquareTrade be good?
