Breakfast of Champions-EXCELLENT BOOK- godawful movie. god i hope vonnegut didnt sign off on that.

Signs- what a load of crap that was, like an alien would reaffirm someone's faith in christianity. if anything it would make a person question it moreso.

The Devil's Advocate- keanu reeves blows. and that pompous monologue by pacino @ the end just makes it unbearable. sorry, pacino has done some very good work, but this hammy crap hes been spewing out the last few years has got to end.

AI - It was just stupid, boring, and depressing. I couldn't wait for it to end. Definitely one of Spielberg's worst movies ever.
Fight Club - I don't get it. I just hated this movie.
Dogma - I don't get it. I just hated this movie. The only funny thing in this movie was Chris Rock.
Showgirls - I felt embarrased for Elizabeth Berkley because she was so painfully awful.

Comments on other movies that some of you hated:
LOTR - no comment needed. If you didn't like these movies, you should be forever banished from AT.
Bladerunner - a f'ing classic. One of the best sci-fi movies of all time. Everyone should see this.
Pulp Fiction - Tarantino's defining movie. One of my favorite movies of all time.
Zoolander - Stupid but damn funny.
American Pie - Cheesy, but had me laughing my a$$ off almost as much as Something About Mary.
Armageddon - Stupid cliche lines, stupid plot(a bunch of roughnecks go to space and save the world). But entertaining to watch and certainly not one of the worst movies of all time.
Moulin Rouge - People love it or hate it. I loved it.
Meet the Parents - Yea, the best lines were in the previews. But it still had me laughing out loud a lot. And not many movies can do that. I think Ben Stiller is hillarious.
Vanilla Sky - Very bizarre and thought provoking. I thought it was great.

I don't get it, you write some understandable reasons to like some of the movies people have listed, yet go and do the opposite with movies that you didnt like. Fight Club was an awesome movie, regardless of whether you liked or hated it. Dogma was funny and had a cool plot. AI was long, confusing and sad but I didn't necessarily hate it -- I just don't plan to ever watch it again.

But Fight club was an awesome movie...but something you have to be in the right mood to watch, I think.

Are you indian? Shanti sounds like an indian name....
Nah, I'm a flower child. Born in 71 to hippie parents.
It means Peace in Sanskrit.
Only problem is most people assume I'm female and I'm not.

I don't think they are movies that people should NEVER see. Except Showgirls. Nobody should have to be subjected to that.
Dogma and Fight Club are just movies that lots of people liked but I hated. They weren't bad movies. I just hated them for some reason. I did think AI was pretty terrible though. Jude Law was awful.

So I guess I wasn't really answering the initial question in the topic.

1) Gremlins 2: This self-aware spoof of the original fails at being funny on any level. The defining moment is when the film "breaks" and Hulk Hogan appears and speaks loudly. My brain slid out of the back of my head and splatted on the floor of the theater.

2) Enchanted April: I couldn't take more than 10 minutes of this feminist tripe. Women go on a retreat and speak badly about their husbands. Action scenes included eating and someone changing their seated position.

3) Silence of the Hams: another self-aware spoof that stole all of its material from other spoof films, and then enacted that material very poorly. I *like* spoof movies. I wanted to cry.

Here are the three movies that I remember seeing in the theater that just made me feel so darn uncomfortable:

1. Leonard Part 6 (80's flick with Bill Cosby) Link
2. Batman and Robin
3. Star Trek V

The most recent movie I've seen that I would definitely NOT recommend is Johnny English. It was simply mediocre and not as funny as it should have been.

1- Pearl Harbor (disgrace they even called this movie "Pearl Harbor")
2- The Last Castle (w/ Robert Redford--terrible movie)
3- Punch Drunk Love (Couldn't even stomach 20 minutes of this one)

I need to knock some sense in the brain of everyone who posted in this thread and did not list:

Dude, Where's My Car?

This movie should never, ever be seen. Your brain cells will actually implode as you watch this horrendous piece of crap.

Its funny, I remember seeing this movie with my kids and absolutely loving it, especially that scene. This movie was funny and goofy, in a Muppets movie kind of way. Besides, it had Phoebe Cates in it, which will redeem any movie.

we can hope that maybe vonnegut didnt. he tends to show up in movies that he did sign off on. like the series "welcom to the monkey house" and "mother night"...two very good examples of his work in movie form.
Breakfast never could have made it...not without a lot of work. the should have used something simple like cats cradle

WHAT??? Master of Disguise was awesome! On the other hand, I just watched Blade Runner last night and that was the worst movie I've seen in a while. :disgust:

You liked Master of Disguise and don't like Blade Runner. Oh, the humanity! I guess most people don't because BR bombed at the box office when it came out. People that told me they didn't like it usually thinks its boring and don't understand the deeper meaning behind it. For people who likes fast shoot-em up, I guess this is not your cup of tea. For me, BR is deep and very moody. No movie has done a better job at setting the somber, bleak, futuristic landscape than BR.

Whether you like BR or not, it does not belong on this list. It is considered one of the all time sci-fi classic. It has been the topic of countless english papers, internet forums, and many praise reviews.

3. A.I.
There is one good use for this movie. For every sequence you're sure was written by Stanley Cubrick, take a shot of vodka. For every one by Spielberg, take one of orange juice. The good part is that by the end, you'll have washed out the taste of vodka.

I'm one of those rare people that thoroughly enjoyed A.I. I use to read a lot of sci-fi stories in middle school and early high school. Usually most sci-fi movies fail to capture the same imagination and feel that the books provide. A.I. was one of the few movie that gives that true "sci-fi" feel to it. I can't really explain it.

I think Zoolander has been said the most...and rightly so. Its the first movie in my entire life that I walked out of.

Oh yeah, Ronin was a thinking man's movie alright. Maybe the briefcase represents something we all want but can never have. I get it now, it's one of those profound, philosophical things. Real deep.

All movies with 2 or 3
like charlie's angel.... etc...

somehow the storyline or special effects get so screwed up
they try to hard to make it better than the original version.. but... damn.

most of them never get better...
except for STAR WARS which really impress me.
