topic with shit in it won't go over well here...

Making a piss poor pun at the expense of 10 people DYING, so classy, so ATOT! I have a serious question here, as death threads are retardedly unfunny attempts at puns are common place here. If a members SO or family member died in a similar fashion and I replied "what a "shitty" way to go!" I would no doubt get the ban stick, so why are people always able to get away with this kind of nonsense simply because the person(s) dying are strangers.

doesn't seem right at all...

Start a thread about it in Forum Issues...

RIP guys.

This is what happens when a ATOTer makes an attempt at comedy. The death thread comedy fail is always 100% on ATOT. One person clued me in that making unfunny and tasteless puns at the expense of a dead person is a part of the healing process. I guess you're supposed to be able to joke about people dying, ha ha 10 PEOPLE DIED!
And they died while cleaning a sewage pump so I totally get the cleverness of the OP saying "shitty" It must have taken him hours to come up with something that witty and unexpected.

hysterical!

I've posted death threads in the past and unless it's a pet, a family member, or member here on the forum... it gets mocked. Truly ridiculous how some people here can post the things they do w/out any remorse. This is hardly part of the healing process imo. If it's THOSE people and THEIR family taking part in the comedy... great, have at it! But we don't know them or how they live their lives, so let it be and stay out of the funny act. I'm really surprised no one has chimed in w/ the cliche "Darwin wins again!". Sickens me to see those responses. Have some dignity and respect.

ATOT isn't the place for you lol, what you said is SPOT ON. It's like every member blurts out the first most obvious thing that comes to their mind when a death thread is posted. But if it's a thread about "my dog died" all of a sudden dozens of people who were total douchbags in the thread about the dude who died masturbating while driving all of a sudden turn into compassionate souls who post the flower emoticon and a "sorry..."

There are a few people on here who are especially tacky in the death threads, and a couple I wouldn't mind meeting in real life so I could punch them in the face. But such is ATOT.

Yet you continue to whine like a 6 year old girl instead of doing anything about it.
Start a thread in FI or shut the fuck up.

ATOT is the place for me... and it has been for almost 10 years now. I remember in 01-04 people didn't throw around statements so loosely as what they do today. Not sure if the mod team stepped in more then or what. But the number of d-bags on this site is growing daily and while I enjoy laughing at some of the dumb witted remarks, mocking death doesn't really fit in w/ ATOT schedule.

It's a free country, and as much as I find the threads in poor taste, users are free to do what they want unless the mods step in. What SirChadwick brought up isn't something the mods are oblivious to. This doesn't need to be posted about it in Forum Issues, it shouldn't even have to be said period. The mods are obviously fine with it, as it's an almost daily occurrence around here now. Hay, they're the mods not me.

Like those who play "Who's the baddest ass (in knowledge only) in Oakland (on paper only)" in the thread about the death of the 4 policeman.

I didn't make lame jokes at the expensive of dead people, I made a post about how a shitty place is only going to get worse due to this event. Tensions are already high there, especially after the B.A.R.T. shooting. Not sure how you're comparing the 2 things. I even said "this event was truly horrible RIP" I didn't make any attempts to make say some sort of bad pun.

And you know nothing about what I know or don't know about Oakland, thanks for assuming though I appreciate it.

I think the rolling eyes was directed at me, but if not sorry my bad it's late and I'm half asleep. This should be a good indication why I'm better off going to sleep instead of posting on here at 5AM
