I still find it hilarious that some progressive media commentators chose to name themselves after The Young Turks. It's basically the same as creating a newspaper called the Nazi Post. Racist? No, we're not racist. We just like naming ourselves after racists.


Although I would like to say Turkey is bad and they're going to get us pulled into WW3, I must admit that I'm not informed enough to say anything. Look at Obama before and after being elected. He was a young idealist. After getting into office, it's like someone showed him what was really happening behind the scenes, and he did a 180. None of us really understand what is happening in that region. The stuff we see Clinton, Putin, and Erdogan doing is nothing compared to what we don't see. Money is changing hands, weapons are changing hands, secret murders are happening. It's a mess. None of us have enough information to say what should or should not be done, unfortunately.

lol Dude, I laughed at that and it's totally wrong. He's conversing in a language totally foreign to his nation and culture; he definitely deserves some slack.

For the OP's question, I have no problem with the Kurdish people and wish them well. They seem among the most tolerant of the Islamic peoples, certainly for that region, although American Muslims and those throughout much of Africa are pretty decent people on average. As for Turkey, I despise what it's becoming as it slips into an Islamic theocracy and I wish they would stop fearing the Kurdish people. And I can't help wondering if things might have been different had America succeeded in getting Turkey admitted as a full EU member. Did the Europeans merely understand Turkey better than us, or did they miss an opportunity?

It's sickening of the EU and the US to turn a blind eye to all the atrocities the Turkish government has been committing in the southeast of the country. Hundreds of thousands of Kurdish people have been displaced from their homes. EU doesn't care because they see Turkey as the solution. US doesn't care because they don't want to piss of a long time ally. Sad.

I think that the Kurds should give up trying to annex parts of Turkey, and that the all Kurds supporting the PKK should be hunted down and imprisoned, and their money distributed to others in need. Terror is terror, regardless of the nation. Kurdistan is not innocent in this mess.

Kurds should also give up trying to change Iran, since the majority of hard-line Iranians barely tolerate Kurds as it is.

Perhaps the Kurds should continue to assist in securing the north by collaborating with the Iraqi government, thus winning favor. The majority of the Iraqi government is Shia, so it's a blow against ISIL that makes them look good to the Persian Shias in Iran. The LARGE Kurdish population in Iran could use some good press.

FInally, the Kurds could volunteer to secure the Mosul Dam, because if it goes.....there's nothing left but crying for the south of Iraq. Their good deed won't go unnoticed, especially since the dam means less to Kurdistan than to the south, and everyone knows it
