holy shit, yes!

my driving instructor when i was a teenager told me to "keep it skraight" when trying to instruct my driving or parking or something. i don't remember when he said it, but it would always crack me up when he said it. i remember asking him, "keep it what?" and him saying, "skraight... you know, don't turn ya wheel, as in skraight ahead".

I just remembered the most common mispronunciation that makes me absolutely furious every time I see it: habanero. There is no "ñ" in "habanero." It is not pronounced like jalapeño. I love salsas and hot sauces that are made with habanero, but if I ever see it spelled as "habañero" on the label, I refuse to eat that sauce. It's like people assume that every single "n" in Spanish must be pronounced like in the word jalapeño, and it's just ignorant and annoying, not to mention completely incorrect.
