IPhone 6S? OK, no, any cellphone with Snapdragon 820.

If not, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Snapdragon version. Is a magnificent beast. Only has GPU problems. The Mediatek version is a recycled part of the Redmi Note 2 which was a beast on their time (uses MTK Helio X10), but is still way useful now. That chip trashes anything Sub Snapdragon 650 and even all the offerings from Intel.

Huawei mate 8? Kirin 950 is no slouch with a giant 4000mah battery, and if you want, you can downscale the resolution to 720p for a lot more battery life. My SOT is about 10hr with moderate use under normal resolution so with the 720p screen option you're probably looking at 12hr SOT.

I don't have benchmarks nor do I worry about battery life as I never run out, but games run smoother at a lower res yet look just as good.

The Chinese Socs always skimp on the GPUs. The Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 are way faster in that regard. 400+ GFlops for the 820 vs 100+ GFlops for the Kirin 950.

That's true, but then again synthetic benchmark is not always indicative of real life performance. If you can find an SD820/exynos8890 powering a 1080p screen with a big battery then by all means go with that route. The Kirin 950 is still very much capable of handling most mobile games out there so I wouldn't rule it out.

And I would not compare GFlops to compare mobile GPUs they are not that representatives of actual gaming performance... Adreno's almost always have a lead in benchmarks but then in real games Mali and PowerVR give better experience with the same theorical performance.
