I wish I could opt out of receipts all together (unless I specifically ask for one, for high ticket items). Or at least setup my debit card to have receipts sent in a small read-only text document to my e-mail.

You know what, that is a good idea. I don't like that most receipts are auto-generated whether you want one or not.

Did some of this kind of discussion before somewhere else. From what it's worth, I was pro-minority report world.

This is kinda steering towards politics.
But I noticed there are some con factors involved in doing so, the one that takes the cake is privacy.
Anyone will know what you are buying if fiat currency is eliminated.

Another benefit of having fiat is, even if technology increases ten-100 fold, fiat currency isn't subjected to changes.


But all in all, the reason why fiat hasn't gone away is because of the federal reserve, has to do with the money heads from different banking institutions. You could pretty much call them the cartel.
