**What Apps For Writing?**

Whats up guys......Im thinking of writing, what app/apps can I use that as I write it will automatically go into pages, so it comes as a book? Any help is appreciated!

Microsoft Word does this (?) If you mean scriptwriting dialog, there are other software, but uh, Word.. hell, Notepad if you think you don't need a spell checker will let you write and print pages (?)

...? What exactly are you trying to do? Check out OpenOffice and the Google Apps writer thing.

I guess I'll go with Word.........what Im trying to do is write my life story for my son, so if anything happens to me, him being 8 right now, I want to write all I know, so one day he can read about my life here on earth........

So as I write and write, it'll save in pages!

That is a really interesting idea.
I don't think I have heard of anyone doing that before.
I would love to be able to read the history of some of my family members that are now deceased.
So much gets lost in the stories that are handed down from relatives.

For the simple writing, I'd use Word (or OpenOffice's clone).

If you want to get fancy - make it a saddle stitched book or something, you might need more than Word can do, but there's no reason for you to mess with that now; it can be converted/formatted to whatever else you want when you're ready, and .DOC is a pretty ubiquitous format.

You could start out with WordPad (rtf files) as you can insert pictures & clipart into it & you can save scraps.

If or when you find that the effort is getting serious (eg, very large) & you need more horsepower then you can always import the WordPad document into MS Word which is designed to support development of major documents.

Don't really see why you'd need more than word. If you get to the point you want to publish it, I'm sure any small publisher would accept .doc files.
