Question What Are AMD 7900XT/7900XTX Dynamic/Virtual Super Resolutions? They Are Better Than Nvidia

I previously had a 7900xtx but I returned it to buy a 4080, while the 4080 performs better in star trek online at a higher resolution, it is around the same in Battlefield 2042 and what is really bad about it is Nvidia has horrible obscure Virtual Super Resolutions, they don't even have 8k which is 7680x4320.

Can someone who has a AMD card please post a picture of all their resolutions? I forget what AMD has but I know they have better resolutions. Nvidia won't even add the resolutions AMD has and they don't even have 8k which is pathetic, they only have a resolution above 8k.

Here's what I have on an RX6800. I think you should be able to run the resolution you want by creating a custom resolution in the Nvidia control panel. I assume that will work with virtual super resolution.

That doesn't work at all, you need to turn DSR off to have a custom resolution and setting it to those doesn't work at all. Nvidia is pathetic with these horrible resolutions, many of them just make your game crash. They should have the DSR resolutions that AMD has.

It might be that your display edid has support for "real" 4K resolution and that's the outcome. You could try using CRU to remove that and then enable DSR resolutions again.

Not sure what you did but NVidia has clearly defined DSR settings that include 4X which will give you exactly 8K with a 4K display.

You should be going into "Manage 3d Settings" -> "Global Settings"-> "DSR Factors", and enable which scaling factors you want, and ONLY those selected should show up in your available resolutions.

All those extra weird resolutions looks like you are actually are using a some weird Windows Over-resolution settings, or are suffering driver hangover. NVidia resolutions in display setting are listed under DSR.

I only enabled 2.25 DL. This is DLDSR, it's the Deep Learning downscaling solution that lets you run at 2.25X while giving very similar quality to Legacy DSR 4X, but the Legacy options are much more expensive.

Also you might want to check available resolutions using NVidia CP change resolution, that should highlight DSR resolutions and their scaling factors. Mine looks similar to this. I only have the one DSR factor I selected above native resolution. DL 2.25x in my case. Legacy 4x in this case:
