What are some good racing games for 3-5yr old?

My 3-rd old boy LOVES cars and racing... was wondering what racing games might be out there that are simple and fun! I seem to recall there's various LEGO games that might be good....


We've got 3D hardware, and smooth animation is easier on the eyes.

One game we do have is cereal-box-software "Tonka Raceway" which is from the DirectX 5 days and the herky-jerky animation drives me nuts! There's gotta' be modern stuff out there on the cheap.

pickup an old nintendo 64 and get the kid mario kart....my 4yr old neice LOVES it
between that and mario party shes got incredible coordination of reading ability (although primarily its mario words its still impressive)

Maybe you can be a little on the illegal side and download an emulator + rom of mariokart 64.

MarioKart seems to be the de-facto BEST racing game for kids, eh?

Well... I could certainly check into that. I do have a PC gamepad....

Pick up a used copy of Microsoft Midtown Madness 1 or 2. Great fun for the young ones.

An old topic revisited....

We got cars. My boy loves it - but it's a tough game!! Holy smokes, there's no way my boy is up to this! Heck, I have a hard time with it!


Stupid #$%^% postcards are hidden in the craziest places requiring perfectly timed jumps... arrgh.

All the good kart racing games are on consoles, sadly ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racing_game )

Not to beat the idea to a pulp, but an N64, two controllers, and one or two of these shouldn't put you back more than $50 on ebay, and that's the cost of one new PC game.
