I actually have two questions. First of all which distribution is the most powerful and second of all which distribution is the easiest to set up and use? Thanks.

When you say "powerful", which aspect do you refer to? IMO, the easiest distro to setup would be Mandrake and then followed by RH. I haven't had the chance to try SuSe yet, but it seems like it's also quite easy to setup.

Most likely ALL versions of Linux will fit your definition of "powerfull" and almost all are now what you would call "easy"...

Thats no lie..

Its just that some have more "eye-candy" than others.... Mandrake seems to be a favorite because it has lots of cool stuff added on that you dont find in some other distributions... and its pretty simple to install.

I just put the powerful part in there because one time I went into a Linux channel on IRC and a lot of the people there told me that Debian was the best distribution because it is the most powerful.

there should be nothing you can do in one distro that you cant do in the others. if youre a first time linux user i suggest redhat or mandrake because of the ease of install but you gotta get into the command line or youll be stick as a linux UI user forever. mandrake and redhat give you a lot of tools but theres nothing like getting into the terminal and going at it. i recommend: http://www.linuxnewbie.org for information. i learned a lot of my stuff here.
