what are the chances of a pregnant girl having her period?

This isn't a joke thread or anything ... I am wondering about this because I have noticed that my sister has been sleeping and eating alot more than normal, and I know she is having unprotected sex with her boyfriend. I told her to go get a pregnancy test because to me it seemed a little like some of the symptoms, but then she said that she had just gotten off her period and that she didn't feel sick or anything like that. I had heard that a girl that is pregnant can stlil have her period, but that it is pretty rare for that to happen. Anyone know what the % chance of that happening is? Thanks.

Unlikely, though it can happen.

Women know their periods pretty well, they should know if something's up.

On the unprotected sex issue, do her a favor & buy her a box of condoms.

Last time I checked, family was pretty important to me and I think I have a right to be concerned. I am not bothering her or anything because I am not sure about the facts, but I am just trying to find out, sheesh.

I woman won't have a full-blown period while pregnant that I know of. Some spotting and such is fairly common tho, especially early in the pregnancy.

Yes, it is possible in the beginning of a pregnancy for a woman to have her period. I can't give you a percentage, but I asked my wife and she confirmed it. She had been researching this stuff for quite a while before she got pregnant.

i know it's rare but everyone has heard of news stories where a woman gave birth but never realized she was pregnant(that is, until she gave birth, of course).

Spotting can happen but a full blown period is all but impossible. I think perhaps it can happen, but if she's had a regular period for all intents and purposes she's not pregnant. She's fine.

From time to time fat cow pseudo-whale women do have a baby without actually realizing that they were pregnant. Imagine how fat and foul such a person must be to not realize they were pregnant (unless they had a kilogram kid).

I've heard a little bit about this before and the babies in such cases are called "paper dolls" because they basically get squished flat by the weight of the mother's body. In one case, this 400-pound woman had somehow managed to get knocked up by some enterprising fellow and came to the doctor because she was noticing a "discharge". Turned out it was the fetus oozing out. :Q

buy her a pregnancy test. instant answer.

I was thinking of that, but thats why I kind of want to know the chances because buying that for her, in my opinion, is jumping more into her business than I am. I don't know because I am not a female, but I would think this is a pretty touchy topic so I don't want to jump the boat and do that just yet.

Even worse, try to imagine what low standards the guy who impregnated them had

FWIW I heard also about a woman who was in the bathroom and I guess out came a baby. I don't know if it landed in the toilet or anything but the thing plopped out of her walrus-like body and she had no idea it was even in there. Utterly repulsive she must have been.

Mind your own business.

It is his business.

No it's not. It's his sister's business.

if it were my sister, i'd show concern too.. i'd say for everyone to stop telling him what he can/can't do.. but that's just me...

Women occasionally have two eggs come down instead of one. (fraternal twins)
If this happens, it seems that it would be possible for one to be fertilized and implant, while the other does not.
