What are the comfermed facts about the R350 then?

Hi,
I was wondering, what are the confermed facts about the specs/naming of the R350?
As far as i know:-

R350-Radeon9800
375-400mhz core
700mhz 256bit DDR Memory
128mb Memory

R350-Radeon9900
375-400mhz core
700mhz 256bit DDR Memory
256mb Memory

Its been rumored that it`ll have 2 tmu`s per pipeline, and will 256bit DDR2 memory.

To be quite honest, i am hoping that it`ll just be a higher clocked 9700PRO. Cos then, i can just OC my 9700PRO to R350 speeds, and i`ll still have the ability to say that i have the fastest video card on the planet.
Of course, i`ll be able to play my games with even more fps than before as well.

The confirmed fact are that R350 isn't here yet. But should be debuting shortly, either way your 9700 is still a nice card.

I dunno, what about those guys who can already get 375-400MHz out of a 9700? Loud cooling would be needed maybe for the ram, not the core I would think...

Whatever it ends up having i'm sure it will be expensive. 9700 Pros are still in the $300+ range. R350 will no doubt shove the price lower a bit, but the R350 will still command a high price. I'd guess 9700 Pro's will be in the $280 range and R350 128mb cards $385-$399 range.

There's 9700 pro's out there now that's Fan less,, so it's super quiet.,, and it's even at 375-425mhz for VPU and 700 and over for the Ram..

Hehe, apparently you haven't played Unreal 2 at 1024x768 with 4 fsaa and 16x aniso. Then tell me it doesn't max your system.
That game taxes the best systems. I can say right now that the ATI 9700 Pro is the best and fastest card.....for now. I just hope the R350 is in the $350 range and not $400-$450. Trying to keep up with video cards is brutal.

Apparently any system with over 2GHz processing power "has as much horsepower as any game could need", so I don't know why your all worrying about 9700PRO's.

Yeh, buts lets be honest.
In the UK, PC Zone rules as the gamers mag. I dont trust PC Gamer on anything. They get too caught up in the hype. Every review that they`ve written, ive dissagreed with. PC Zone on the other hand are more realistic in their game rating. Plus, I`d trust PC Zone`s "Wandy" hardware more than PC Gamers, simply because they are far more in depth about computer hardware. PC Gamer however have little experiance with computer hardware.

Off topic i know, but its gotta be said.

Now, back to topic.

The R350 will be a fast card, whatever the final spec, but imo, MOST people will opt for a 9700 card, because they will be far cheaper, and the money saved can go on something else, like more memory, or a couple of new games. There will however, be some people who will buy the card anyway, simply to say that they have the fastest card on the market. I know that this contradicts what i said in my inital post, but im not one of those people. My 9700PRO card is the first "top of the line" video card that ive ever brought, my other video cards were all slower and/or cut down models of the "top of the line" card at the time.
