'First French Reader'

From Guy de something to the other 50 guys I never heard of. On the bright side, I'm definately getting better at comprehending French.

Loving the series so far. I've always ignored it and thought it sounded stupid, but this is turning into some of the best Stephen King stuff I have ever read and I have read pretty much everything he has put out.

Dark Tower for the win.

The first and fourth are my favorites, after that it goes downhill imo. I'm putting off reading the 7th because I found 5-6 so disappointing.

Yes, read this. Read it to the end. Then go back and reread it. Then read The Stand, It, Insomnia, The Talisman, and Black House. I do have to admit that the wait between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of the Calla was the best part of the series, because I got to try to find every bit of Dark Tower stuff hidden in his other books. Most of King's newer books kind of, well, suck, but his magnum opus is one of the most amazing things I've ever read!

Oh yeah, I've been reading some of my Calvin and Hobbes books I have around.

Stephen King - Dreamcatcher

Not his best work...I'm about halfway through and thoroughly bored, not looking forward to the next 400 pages.

currently Cisco Press ICND1 study and exam guides.

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephan R Donaldson are a favorite read of mine. I have read a lot of books, I think I have close to 300-500 here.

Some sort of Gypsy Morph book from Terry Brooks. I enjoyed his books as a kid. Not enjoying this one now, though, for whatever reason. Seems kind of pointless. Guess I enjoy scifi more than magic, even if the scifi tech is probably just as unrealistic as magic. Maybe I don't like fiction at all any more.

For Fun:
The Revolution- A Manifesto (Paul)
Nothing currently, but I may revisit Nietzsche or Dostoevsky soon enough.

I got The Children of Men from the library. I watched the movie but it wasn't memorable for me, so I'm going into the book on a clean slate.

It's not you, it's him. After his first trilogy he descended into the depths of mediocrity and repetition just like David Eddings did. Running with the Demon was ok but everything else he's written since then has been pretty weak.

Anyone read Master of the Margarita? Or is it worth it reading 'We' if you've already read 1984? I heard it was much better.

'Best French Stories'

Got some Voltaire. I suck at reading French, and lack any attention span, but at least it's better than the last POS collection of stories I gave up on. I actually just ordered 5 new French novels from Amazon with one, cohesive story. They're written for children, so I should be right at home. I should probably have gone with an easier level, but I just couldn't bring myself to order a book titled 'Diary of a 6th Grader'. *shudders*

Shogun was awesome BTW

Can you recommend some other awesome books?

Have you read the Song of Ice and Fire series?

No, I keep hearing about them. What are they?

Amazing fantasy series by George R.R Martin. I'm not a big fan of epic, long fantasy series novels but this series is an exception.

could you give a teaser? I love reading epic, long fantasy series novels.
